Yeah, no one in the history of recruiting has ever been recruited at one position but moved to another when they arrived.

Yeah I can tell. Just another pathetic Gibson hater. If you would have said to me last year "one of the best players in the country wants to come to UT but there are fans who don't want him" I would have called you nuts. Over the past 3 weeks or so this thread has made me stand corrected.

Look...I am not ashamed to say that I was as disappointed as anyone to hear that it wasn't Gibson who was "the commit that will blow up Twitter" (as Ainge put it).

But, it seemed like CBJ's hand was forced with Dormady's announcement last week that he was going to announce his commitment some time this week. They like Dormady a lot, but simply couldn't afford to let him slip to the Bamers, while waiting on Gibson.

It was a calculated move, but it effectively wipes Gibson off our board. Unless Gibson is serious about the prospect of playing WR, we are done recruiting him...I don't care how many Hubbs, Ruckers or Callhan's say differently. Jennings and Dormady are our QB's in this class.

Reality will set in soon enough

Once again can you post anything at all where it says we are only taking two qbs? I have literally not seen one article or quote from someone in the know saying we are only taking two. Every source says we are after Gibson still. What makes you think we are not? 99% of people saying we are still after Gibson is because we are, and he is one of CBJ's top targets. Not because they aren't counting JJ as a qb. Most think we would take all three and let them fight it out. The reports back up that position. What makes you think qb recruitment is over?

Will they still recruit Gibson? I'd think they would. Would they take him as QB in this class, I don't see it. I'm still waiting to see what he does if/when his ride shows up and he gets home. Part of me thinks he would like to drop UT out of contention. Taking a QB while he was on campus had to sting like hell. Another part of me says no way in the world he drops UT this early and watches his twitter count bomb. We'll see how it plays out.

Ok so JJ SAID he was told by the staff that he was recruited as a QB. Gibson SAID that he was told BY THE STAFF that he was their #1 QB target. But Gibson was just lying right?

It's not about where they "might" get moved. It's about where they are projected while they are being recruited. You simply cannot count on Jennings as an "Athlete" when he has been told in clear terms by the staff, that he is being recruited as a QB.

The recruiting services that continue to list him as an "Athlete" are downright wrong to do so. That's why I don't waste my $$$ subscribing to their drivel. Most of it is pure speculation and rehashing what we fans already know.

If a school recruits a player at a certain position, that is what the services should list him as. Why? Because the staff knows more about their own needs and how they plan to utilize the player, than any recruiting service does

Jennings was quoted early in the process saying he would only consider committing to a school where he could play QB. He then committed to Tennessee. Take from that what you like.

TG was "told" he was #1 on the UT board.

Tennessee has 2 QBs currently committed in the 2015 class and Torrance Gibson is not one of them.

Once again, take from that what you like.

When you are number one you can wait and know you have a scholly held. Doramady couldn't do that. Gibson knows he has his spot regardless of who is committed.
