So what your saying OV is rumors seem to be accurate that people may not care much for this kid. They will happily drive him to Knoxville to drop him off, but they intend to leave him.

I get that not everyone's family has those kind of resources. I bought my own car at 16 years old for $2500 after busting my butt at crappy summer jobs for a couple years. So I get it, I really do. But he's getting a free college education. A couple hundred bucks to rent a car for the weekend is pretty small potatoes. And it seems like almost everyone I knew had a car at 16...which was only 5 years ago. I imagine its more widespread now.
