Recruiting Football Talk VII

Life ain't, but sports should be....what it is the point of watching "scripted" reality?...it now takes a ridiculous level of suspension of disbelief to buy it, and I am finding it harder and harder to attain...

The corruption is killing my love.
Sports are all about being unfair. Bigger, stronger, faster athletes will win every time. Do you want the NFL to redraft each team every year and redistribute the talent so it’s “fair”. I didn’t have you pegged as a socialist but it’s starting to sound like you were the kid that didn’t like playing dodgeball in PE because the big kids would pick on you.

Bluechip Breakdown on YouTube is really good.

Had a good recent video regarding the DBs. Our older guys were better fits for zone schemes in his opinion and our young recruits can play man. We're likely changing the scheme to man and that's part of the exodus. The portal guys we are looking at can play man.
Man, wouldn't that be nice.

That would be a wonderful turn of events

Absolutely agree.

There’s not much difference between Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, A&M, Auburn, Florida, and now Texas and Oklahoma.

You put Nick Saban or Kirby Smart at either of those schools and the results are replicated. Those are surefire destinations that have the resources for the right coach to create long sustained success.
Disagree to the extent that I am not sure Kirby could have completely replicated what he has done at UGA here. Due to the talent in Georgia and the minimal competition from Ga Tech. Florida has talent, but multiple schools competing competently. Georgia (imo) is the one program and state that has an unfair advantage against everyone else.

We are top 5 in recruiting spending, easily have some of the best facilities. There is absolutely no reason for us to be ranked 14 and 8th in the conference. Honestly not a good look for the staff
exactly... but you have plenty who are coming in with the orange glasses saying well recruiting rankings don't really matter and we trust Heup to get the players that fit his system... until the players don't. As we saw a little with some of the WRs this season, sticking with the same QB no matter what happened, second string Oline, and just about the entire secondary two deep...

Biggest thing I am interested in seeing is what the secondary is going to look like moving forward. As a few have said, we have all the resources/funds and apparently the goal is to win championships (not sure how you do that without elite talent going against the elite programs, but what do I know as we are sitting at 8-4, 21st in the country, and will end up outside of the top 10 in recruiting, and folks being fine and accepting another year of this/treading water). We will soon find out.

Dropped this in the ff as well.

I’ve always had the feeling Tate ends up here, ever since the video of him saying Neyland had the best stadium

Would be immediate starter at LG, IF he transfers

LT - Campbell
LG - Tate
C - Mays
RG - Sprag
RT - Mincey

I agree about Georgia but I think it’s even more so with LSU. LSU is the only power 5 program in Louisiana and there’s even more homegrown talent there compared to Georgia which has a lot of transplants. Not as many blue chips as Georgia, due to population.

Lots of Louisiana kids grow up dreaming of playing at LSU. It’s really easy to recruit instate and clean up.

8-4 is most likely next year. Schedule is brutal. It will likely resemble this season with losses to the big 3 and Oklahoma. So if this season pissed you off, next season is likely to as well expecting a playoff appearance.
Big 3 being Florida? I think that’s a toss up at worst. Home and later in the season help as I think they could have a similar season next year.

You really think that's the same as being in the SEC? Even with Texas' win over Bama this year, what would they have done with an SEC schedule? Not apples to apples.
That’s what a fan thinks. Players know better. Besides they beat the SEC champion at their place anyway.

Email Danny White....,

Tennessee has been behind 8 ball for years and then the scandal of paying players....
.....

Winning cures all...

A 10-2 record with Nico slinging ball all over the field will draw recruits in ....
