I thought we looked a little shaky at times. Missed layups, missed free throws, some horrible passes, a terrible two-on-one fast break with an opponent down at the other end. Not even counting the missed shots from usually-reliable shooters...those are gonna happen. Still don't free up our shooters or use screens too effectively. Sometimes curious play (backing away from drivers to open up the lane, staring at basket when a nearby teammate picks up dribble and needs an outlet). Lots of room for improvement.

But we also looked good at times and played decent defense against a hapless Alabama team who couldn't buy a bucket at times. Spear and Jackson were on 🔥.

Have to clean up the lapses tomorrow, but overall, a nice way to get our lick back.

I hope Ace can improve and get PT next season to match Karly Weather's aggressive, heads-up play for Bams. She looked pretty good against us today.

I'm still unsure what Ace's ceiling is, but I will say she plays hard and she's fearless. Hope she works her tail off this summer. I'd love if I was wrong about her. What if Ace could be the next Sara Puckett?

I recently read a quote by Kellie or someone from the team that Puckett is in incredible shape. Then I believe it was Jackson who talked about how extremely strong Puckett is. She may not be our most athletic player, but she is giving it her all to be as athletic as she possibly can be. I think even more impressive is how much more mentally tougher she is than last year. A game like today in which she was not hitting her 3s after be so hot last game would have got her into a mental rut last year, but she played really well today despite no 3s.
