The Southeastern Conference has established a scheduling format for the 2025 football season, it was announced Wednesday.

Similar to the 2024 SEC football schedule, during the 2025 season teams will play eight conference games plus one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or major independent.

Im not a fan of not rotating out teams. But if they stick to the permanent opponents and rotate the others out every third year thats fine. You get a home and away before they rotate off.

They aren't going to add the 9th conference game until TV pays for it. At the same time they aren't going to scrap the old rivalries. If TV doesn't pay for 9 in 2026 we'll get Bama, UK and Vandy plus 5 of the remaining other 7 (Ole Miss, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, Miss State, A&M and Texas). Then they'll flip that home and home. It's basically what they did pre-1992, play a few teams every year and rotate everyone else as best and often as they could. Yeah, you'll miss out on playing 2 of the 15 others every four years but that's better than what it is now and it's a small price to pay to keep the Third Saturday in October AND The Iron Bowl every year, and Georgia-Florida and Georgia-Auburn, LSU-Florida and LSU-Ole Miss, etc.

Well it's good for the traditional rivals of Vandy, KY and bamer plus newer rivals Floriduh and Jawga.

Too bad we couldn't substitute SCAR for Jawga! lol

This is a doable schedule with 12-team playoff model. OOC slate of ETSU, UAB, Syracuse and New Mexico State: better not lose one of those!

I really like the way our season went the last time we opened up with Syracuse!

Hadn’t noticed before but UT/Aub virtually same schedules except we play Florida and MST and Auburn plays TaM and Miz.
