Above :lolabove: is just the beginning of the holes in your depth chart.

fun exercise on my part now just reflecting on everything I would do different in your post. What happened to DT Alexis Johnson for instance?

Alex Johnson is 3rd string depth!

So you're a former coach? And this rule is followed by all your former brethren?

Unwritten rule. Someone moves in from out of town needs to prove himself and win over the team and coaches. Nothing is given just because he was good somewhere else.

2016 - SENIOR (LOUISVILLE)

Played in eight games while battling injuries
Recorded eight tackles, one tackle for loss and three pass breakups. Not great numbers for the so called automatic starter.

3 glaring problems with your depth chart:
1) Vickers is a starting DT, alongside Tuttle (when healthy) or McKenzie
2) Starting CB's will be Wiggins and Martin IMO.. it sure as heck won't be Moseley and Osborne...
3) You won't keep Gaulden off the field, he will start.

The issue is still depth. At dtackle for example we're very think. McKenzie and turtle have both been injury prone and not produced much even when healthy. Other programs have 6 to 8 dts in their rotation

Better numbers and better film than Moseley. Warren has a clean slate with no obligations to seniority. Butch ain't honoring some "unwritten rule" at his team's expense...can't afford to.

if a 5 and 4 star player has not played up to expectations after two years on campus (no matter reason) you have to be skeptical if they will ever attain that.. Only in the case of Alabama where they have them stacked 4 deep is that not the case. JMO

Still need to find a speed rusher on defense, develop the depth at LB, find a cover corner, get more production out of the safeties. While some of you are touting this defense as being talented at every position need to remember; Not a single Tennessee defensive player was named to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team all SEC pre-season team. NONE.

Phillips or Kongbo either one could be that rusher. Wiggins should be that corner. And our safeties just have to stay healthy, the talent is there

Ms State? Not sure he would have wanted him if he didn't think he was a good player. I guess he could have wanted him for depth. We will find out soon.

yes. guy failed at two different schools. schools don't let good players leave most of the time.

The last school, UL, was left by Wiggins as a grad x-fer not the reverse. The school literally had no say. I'm not sold on his size, but there are a whooooooooole lot of people that think this youngster is a big time player, it can't hurt that he is on campus and an experienced CB.

Which points out our CB issues because Wiggins is not very good

He is a scrappy player with experience. He should provide some solid depth. I think you will be surprised at the talent we have in the back end with some solid coaching techniques. The ole turn your head and spot the ball trick will help tremendously this year

I've never understood how players get coached poor techniques by position coaches who work for a head coach and coordinator. Aren't those two also liable for poor techniques?

Didn't fail at two different schools. Left two different schools. How do schools STOP good players from leaving, exactly?

IMO Vickers starts and bumps out over Phillips. Mosley and Wiggins/Baylen for starting CBs.. Gaulden stays at nickel. And...
