Here’s some rolls.....

View attachment 285585

It would take a really really really good homemade fresh out the oven roll to beat those.

I'm suddenly missing my mom. She was a big fan of the Brown N serve dinner rolls and I grew up with them on my dinner table several times a week for 18 years of living at home.

Me too!

I grew up with both brown and serve and homemade dinner rolls. My Grandmother (RIP) was the Queen of making homemade dinner rolls and fried chicken. Slap yo momma GOOD!

French Bread with the poppy seeds on occasion, the brown n serve dinner rolls and homemade biscuits were staples. She made some kind of yeast roll every once in a while that must have been a gift to her from heaven because I've never seen or had anything like them since.

Like her biscuits, I've been unsuccessful in duplication.

My wife and I took a cooking class with Kelsey Barnard Clark from Top Chef and can now make killer biscuits and fried chicken.

I've never tried a homemade biscuit, but I want to. One of my grandmothers had 2 drawers in her kitchen that had meal, and flour. She'd pull the drawer out to get either for whatever she was making, or rolling in it. Thinking about it now, probably to most unsanitary thing ever, but man she made tge best biscuits and cornbread out of those drawers I've ever had😂. I doubt I'll put flour in a drawer, but I do want to try and make biscuits one day.

I make a good biscuit. Mine is not as good as my mother's was. I've convinced myself that the key ingredient in her biscuits is one I'll never know.

I'm a firm believer that Love is the key ingredient to any recipe. Life in general, but we're talking food. Mom put the love of a husband and two kids (a family) in those biscuits. **In b4 TFG says I got a husband. I dont have kids, but I always put love of the food in whatever I'm making, but obviously that ain't the same.
