Lol did anyone just see the family with their lawyer, claiming they don't want race to be a part of this process?

Strange I didn't hear that until after TM profiled GZ as a cracka ass rapist.

York is one of the better respected posters on VN. I believe I have read him post that part of his children are adopted.

I think you used a bit too much club on the approach. For me to merely express curiosity doesn't in any way imply I'd be willing to hand a defendant out to try in the process. Not sure why that was your assumption.

Moreover though I think even your premise may be faulty. The prosecution has already been trying to paint a narrative about GZ that would seem to be far less relevant than the 911 call and reconstruction of what led up to the actual shooting, don't you think? And, frankly, I think there's some bits of that which would be far more exculpatory than damning to GZ's case.

Tracy Martin clearly incited a lynch mob to the brink of riots with his accusations and demands...for Zimmerman to be arrested, tried, and convicted for "murdering his son in cold blood." "Give us one man. That is all we are asking, just one man!" He did not say "or else," but there was no doubt about it and what his audience was thinking and feeling. Without this trial, there would have been major race riots, because of the false reports from Tracy Martin, his lawyer, and several news outlets. While Zimmerman had not been arrested at that time, arresting Tracy Martin and his attorney for incitement was out of the question. It would have appeared outrageous and absurd.

I really don't think you are going to see anything along the lines of "riots" if Zimmerman is acquitted. Protests? Sure. And Zimmerman's going to have to leave Orlando, without a doubt. But I think violence will be minimal.

This is simply another case the media has pushed and pushed and pushed. Since the OJ case was such a big hit on TV the media is on the prowl for another moneymaker.

IMO, this case does not warrant any more attention than thousands of other cases across America.

I always wonder why people get so obsessed with these things. Jodi Arias, Casey Anthony, this. It's stupid. There are vastly, vastly more important things to get worked up over.

Of course not. The fact that Martin was an unarmed teenager also made a lot of people(Black and White) think the shooting was wrong. There would have to be very extenuating circumstances to justify it. As the facts of the case became available, it appeared that the first reports were lies and that the circumstances for self defense with a firearm did exist.

I'm sorry, I wasn't directing my anger towards you. I'm just mad at the media and how they have misconstrued the law. Now everyone wants all this info to come out, which it won't.

Just had to vent, I apologize.

No problem, and you're absolutely right to be angry about how almost all of this has played out in most media outlets. It's been simply awful.

Arias trial- her looks
Anthony trial- some mom who didnt know her kid was missing for weeks
Zimmerman trial- the cops had it right the first time, no charges. only because of media and social media we have an arrest and trial.

Interesting that the prosecution brought this guy to debunk GZs claimed that TM was slamming his head on the pavement. Well the guy did say he didn't see the head slamming but he did see TM on top of him "MMA style" punching him repeatedly and heard GZ screaming in fear.

Congrats prosecution you really threaded the needle here - the guy who was getting punched while lying on his back on the sidewalk said the damage on his head came from being slammed into it rather than being punched with his head against the concrete.

This makes 2 witnesses that the prosecution brought forward that in effect debunk their claim that GZ was out looking for a fight and was the aggressor.
