As for the "precedent" this sets that's a bunch of nonsense. This case is not unique. It is not being tried in the context of prior findings of guilt or innocence. Finally, people aren't going to just start getting in fights and shooting people because of a not guilty verdict.

People are going to have different opinions on this case for sure and I can see it going either way. That's just the way I saw it. Wouldn't be surprised if Zimmerman is found not guilty or is found guilty of manslaughter.

Not stupid. Just hasn't paid attention.

I thought Zimmerman was guilty before I got into the case. Now it's painfully obvious he isn't. Maybe he just hasn't been paying attention.

After having been followed, he's now confronted. How is that not grounds for fearing what's about to happen? If it was a girl, should she wait to see what this man following her has to say after having followed her. Let him get right up on her and see what he's all about in the middle of the night. She's most likely going to end up raped and in a ditch. Why is it different for Trayvon? He knew he was being followed from the start. Then this dude actually gets out of his vehicle to confront him. I'd assume I'm about to get stabbed or mugged in that situation. I'm not waiting to see what someone has to say after they've been following me. Self-defense... he felt threatened. And rightfully so.

I'm telling you, before the trial I wanted this dude to hang. The only facts (loosely) I heard about this case came from media and my 14 year old son. I watched the trial while in Florida (rained 2 days). There is absolutely nothing that proves what you and others have said. There is no proof, therefore you can not convict him.

Anyone here think that they would not get charged with assault if they beat the hell outta someone, even if u thought they were following you???? 10 out of 10 times your a-- would be in the back of the squad car

Definitely not guilty of Murder 2. No way, no how.

Not sure what the bar is for manslaughter - if it's not self defense is it de facto manslaughter or is there something in between.

I have a hard time saying you can shoot someone if you are losing a fight and it's hard to say if GZ truly believed he was in great harm or threat of death.

Given what I saw, I'd have to say there was at least some reasonable doubt of manslaughter.

Disagree. Homosexuals are more against Zimmerman than most Black folks. Obviously, we are seeing a profoundly perverted criminal attitude against Zimmerman, but the psychology goes beyond race.

The proof is the phone operator explicitly told him not to follow Trayvon. He disregarded this. Then he is confronted by Trayvon. A normal and reasonable 17 year old boy would certainly be freaked if some guy well into his adult years is following him. Did Trayvon act in a manner that most 17 year old boys would act? That's what we would ask if we were looking at this case objectively. I know some 17 year old boys in the same situation would've run and some would've confronted Zimmerman just as Trayvon did.

Now for self defence. Was Zimmerman in real danger? Was his life threatened? Well not according to the medical examiner.

In any case the police cocked up real bad and it's their fault if there is a lack of evidence.

What could swing it to manslaughter is the medical examiner's testimony. She said Zimmerman's injuries were 'very insignificant'. That is telling that the altercation may not have been as life-threatening as Zimmerman has made it out to be.
