Zimmerman Trial

I would have said the same before the trial. I just see no evidence.

I can see him getting off because of the evidence presented.

But common sense allows you to piece it together.

Ray Lewis chucked some bloody clothes.

OJ Simpsons ran from cops.

Michael Jackson has alarms set up 30 feet from his bedroom.

These people were all guilty but were let off. If you have a brain though, you know they're all guilty. Casey Anthony too...

They may be going through the elements of each crime. For all we know, they started with murder 2 and have dismissed it. Now, they are going through the elements of manslaughter. After they determine if he qualifies for manslaughter then they look at self-defense and see if he qualifies.

The jurors on this jury seem to be very detail oriented. Even though they could have just started with self-defense and found him not guilty of murder or mansalughter based off just this analysis, I have a feeling they could be going through each element of murder 2 and manslaughter before looking to self-defense.

Again I am just speculating and have no clue what they are doing - just like everyone else commenting and reporting on this deliberation.

True. But prison time is obviously going to happen for a man that doesn't deserve it

Still 25 years. Right?

I think the jury is just working their way down from murder 2 to acquittal.

I think all this means is that murder 2 is off the table.

Thats the system. He may have set out to kill this kid, BUT there is absolutely no evidence suggesting.

You can't make an assumption about him and convict him. There has to be proof.

Zimmerman was following Trayvon.

Yes...

Trayvon knew he was being followed.

Yes...

After having been followed, he's now confronted. How is that not grounds for fearing what's about to happen? If it was a girl, should she wait to see what this man following her has to say after having followed her. Let him get right up on her and see what he's all about in the middle of the night. She's most likely going to end up raped and in a ditch. Why is it different for Trayvon? He knew he was being followed from the start. Then this dude actually gets out of his vehicle to confront him. I'd assume I'm about to get stabbed or mugged in that situation. I'm not waiting to see what someone has to say after they've been following me. Self-defense... he felt threatened. And rightfully so.

All the dude had to do was stay in his car after he called the cops and nothing happens.

What's not to get?

He's the reason all of this happened.

All Trayvon had to do was.......ready?...... Go back to the house. He didnt have to turn back and assault Zimmerman.

Why?

Trayvon Martin defended himself.

Oh yeah, Trayvon Martin defended himself by walking back a hundred yards to punch a man in the nose, knock him down, get on top of him MMA style, punch him in the head repeatedly, and bash his head against concrete. Walking back a hundred yards to do those things might be defending yourself in the criminal world of jungle rules, but in the civilized world, that is assault and battery with deadly force.

Zimmerman went up and confronted Martin? Evidence please.

I just cannot believe this crap. What more do you need to prove self defense. All this to please the idiotic mob. I cannot help but to feel so sorry for gz. I would have done the same thing by makin sure he wasn't breaking in someone's house. As I would want my neighbors to do the same. the thug deserved to be killed. If he's found guilty its a sad sad day for America. All it does is give more power to the race card

I'll just say that this dude thought Trayvon was suspicious based on standing around.

You know what's more suspicious? Being followed and then the person following you, confronts you. Trayvon knew he was being followed and it's obvious Zimmerman was following him. After having followed him, he got out of his vehicle to confront him. That's far more suspicious... I wouldn't stop for some random dude stalking me in the middle of the night either. jmo

And if Zimmerman didn't want to be in this spot. Stay in his car... he already called the cops. Worst case scenario, he thought Trayvon would rob a house. Worst thing Trayvon thought this stalker was going to do, murder him.

I say find him guilty. He killed the only witness and lied about how badly he was injured. "He smacked my had like 12 times against the concrete". We later find out it was like two times and he refused medical help. The only reason he said it was more was because he was selling the fact his life was in danger more than it was all because he killed someone and wanted to make it seem like he was well within his rights to murder someone in cold blood.

Trayvon was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and folded khakis , hardly 'gangster clothing'. So Zimmerman thinks he looks suspicious. How so? His clothing is suspicious. Gimme a break. If a white person was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and folded khakis no one would think he was suspicious. Zimmerman thought he was suspicious because he was black, we all know it.

He then begins to follow this 'suspicious' individual even though the police operator explicitly tells him not to.

Trayvon turns and confronts the weird guy following him. I'd be kind of freaked out too if I was 17 and some guy who is nearly 30 is following me down and empty street. An altercation ensues in which Zimmermans gains 'very insignificant injuries' and he decides to shoot the kid.

Hmmmm seems like manslaughter to me. Sets a dangerous precedent if someone can walk into a court and argue that if they confront someone they subjectively deem to be suspicious and he/she throws a punch (which I assume would lead to very insignificant injuries) then the individual has the right to shoot and kill them in self defence.

What if Zimmerman had been a woman? Same exact facts - Girl Zimmerman had a gun, on neighborhood watch, took aerobic classes I mean MMA classes and followed Trayvon. Also, Girl Zimmerman was real butch. If Trayvon attacked her would Girl Zimmerman still be guilty of murder 2 or manslaughter?

You're telling the story one way here - the way that favors TM most. Maybe it happened this way but we just don't know.

As for the "precedent" this sets that's a bunch of nonsense. This case is not unique. It is not being tried in the context of prior findings of guilt or innocence. Finally, people aren't going to just start getting in fights and shooting people because of a not guilty verdict.
