The short answer is that I really like UT. Why would I be here if I didn't have an interest in the Vols. I used to post a lot. At one point back I remember BTO and I had really close post counts in the 20000's. But I stopped caring as much or posting as much because of how many people have been rude to me or when the mods have trolled me/deleted my posts. Probably 5-6 years ago I just got tired of it and as much as I like UT and this site, all that stuff drove me away. I found this site around 2009 or 2010. Finally made this permanent account in 2012 or whatever and it's the only site I've ever invested time in. There used to be some really good UK guys here too. I miss those days.

Players are rented. Every year could be your last (with any team). Ziegler should get his best deal and take it. Wherever that takes him.

He’s not in the portal, though. And it’s closed. Seems like UT would be his only option.

If it was my post that pushed you over the proverbial ledge, then my apologies, I guess. I'm just really not sure what would inspire someone to go on a fierce rival's board in the first place, and then to actually believe that their opinions are something anyone there would value? Bizarre.

Don’t remember the sweet 16 stuff but that one screamed what you said. He’s just been around so long and used to be more discrete I was giving the benefit. Either way, a good hiatus can be good for everybody sometimes.

I have to think if they eventually approve the 5th year for the latest crop of players (ZZ, Gainey, etc) that they would add a stipulation for them to transfer again. Not sure why, I have no evidence saying they would even consider it. Just my own thought on it.

Granting this would create a slippery slope... on to college being the new Gleague literally with 9th year 30-year-old players. I love ZZ and would be stoked to have him back but him winning that case would create a scary precedent. The Pavia case was bad enough..

People look at immediate results instead of what it means down the road. A good example would be Felony Murder. The charge. It has existed since the 1700's but was rarely ever used. England abolished it in 1957, but a lot of US states use it and especially since the 90's. THe law is slightly different state ot state but a simple example would be. You live in a huge mansion. You spend most of your time on the east wing with the west wing mostly empty. I burglarize the west wing of said mansion, you are completely unaware of my presence. At the same time im stealing you are accosted by an entirely unrelated individual and lose your life. I can be charged with felony murder. Because during the course of my crime you died. A more realistic case if the kid in virginia who was forced along for a robbery and say in the car while they went in and robbed a party. He wasnt the driver, was there under durress and had no participation in the carrying out or planning of it. Everyone else, including the shooter copped a plea got between 10-25 years.. he got multiple life sentences because he didnt flip or take a plea. Its an easy slam dunk case for a prosecutor because you don't have to prove much at all. All that they had to prove was he was there was aware it was a robbery and didnt tell on anyone. A law that was created to prevent some edge cases became a tool to fill prisons.

This is also a reason most Judges are very wary of setting a precedent. They'd much rather kick the rock down the road to appeals courts instead. I dont see any real merit in ZZ's case its going after a loophole that shouldn't be bothered. He does not have a case to deserve another year. I know that wont be popular but its true. IF he wins there are literally thousands of others out there with WAY stronger cases.

Why did Chaz Lanier have a case but Zeigler doesn’t? Why does Myles Stute have a case but Zeigler doesn’t? Why did thousands of players get. 5th year but Zeigler shouldn’t? What if a 5th year gets passed as expected starting for next years class, every class will have gotten 5 years except Zeigler’s, that wouldn’t be a case?

Wouldn't it be more accurate to state that "every COVID-class and class moving forward" would get 5 years...not every class.
