NO, I didn't mean American, you dummies!!

On my paternal side, I'm English, Scottish, and Irish, on my maternal side, I'm Scottish foremost, than English, with a smattering of Indian, as they were here in the 1650's.

So, when it's boiled down, I'm a Scot/Angle, with the Norse features that come from Eastern Scotland, Coal Black hair with a reckless red and blond beard.

I have a good buddy with whom I've played Golf on PS2 and XBox360 on from England, he says i'm one of those troublesome scots they sent over on the slave ships....good for a chuckle, though its most likely the truth.

Naturally, my ancestors fought for the Hanoverian Kings in America, at Ticonderoga, and the assault on Quebec, and under Rogers on the Frontier.

Not trying to type a book here, but i'm a "Scottish Soldier" I'd be interested in a brief rundown of how your family ended up in the greatest Nation on earth, as far as you know, or any neat stories about this or that that may have been shared with you by your parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc.

The Broyles is German, my dad has traced us to the Briles Castle on the Rhine River. Some became Broyles, Broles, Broyle and Boyles. I'm a distant cousin of Frank Broyles (Arkansas). Mom was a Jones - English, but her mother was a Moore - Irish. Great-great grandmother was Cherokee.

One of my dad's relatives traced our family tree back to the Norman conquest when my French ancestors kicked the English keister, took over their country, and then Anglicized the family name well before another ancestor came to Charleston for a Protestant land grant prior to the American revolution. My mom's family came to the US from Sweeden in the late 1800s.

I think you mean ethnicity...

Ethnicity would refer to a more broad identification, like "northern European" or "East African". I think he is asking what countries our ancestors came from so in a way it is both, ethnicity and nationality(s).

Dutch and German on dad's side
German, English, Irish and Scottish on mum's side.

My name is pure Dutch, from the Maastricht region in the Netherlands.
My great grandmother came from county Claire in Ireland
I have been to the German town where my mothers maiden name came from, met some distant relatives.

My ethnicity is northern European with several nationalities represented.

Irish, German, a couple of my ancestors were Native American. On a side note my Irish ancestors won title for their service to the crown at the battle of Hastings.

or Mexican without the great state of TN :)

I've never denied that. I guess I should have included a "thankyou list".

Thankyou to all Tennesseans for Sam Houston, Davy, Lynchburg products, and helping out General Hood during the battle for Devil's Den.

just kidding around with you. I used to call on a company where all the employees were from TX and loved their reaction when I brought that up.

Born in England, father English, mother Irish, moved here when I was a month shy of turning 10, I dont have any American in me, I love this country, and yes I am a citizen. My sister and brother volunteer once a month at a local family history library, tracing your ancestors is interesting.
