I'm trying to remember, was it after Benoit that Vince refocused on the WWE Wellness Program, or was it after Eddie?

I think Eddie was the start, Benoit was the fire, but the SI story was the straw that broke the camels back. That brought them horrible press.

Edit: I got that backwards. It was the SI story, then the Benoit death.

I don't disagree, but I'm not sure WWE had the whole story at that point. And the Benoit who did those horrible things was not the same Benoit everyone in that lockerroom called a friend. No one knew the years of concussions and apparent steroid use had had that effect on him. There's no excuse for what he did, but I don't think anyone could have seen it coming either. What he did was evil, but a part of me still has sympathy for him because circumstances turned him into that monster.

Looking back on it, there's 0 shock that a guy who did that many flying headbutts ended up with a critical case of CTE

Getting away from darker conversation, I still think Reigns should be a Heyman guy after Brock leaves. I think there was chatter of doing it with Rollins, but Reigns needs it more. Keep Rollins with the Authority for now, put Reigns with Paul, and let Ambrose do his thing, then build toward a triple threat Shield match.

At the time, that was when the real seriousness of multiple concussions was becoming known, so it was a surprise. Now we know more.

I think it was shown his brain was that of a 80 year old man with Alzheimer's. His acts were horrifying but he definitely had brain issues.

Agree completely.

I could be off on my time, it happens as you get older, but didn't the Benoit incident happen as more and more info on how multiple concussions severely damaged your brain started to become publicly known? The scientific community may have known it for awhile, but wasn't it just really starting to come into the public eye?

I really hope they keep Bubba Ray around. Whether you use him as a face or a heel, I've always liked Bubba.

As I recall, it was right before that. When Benoit died, everything was pointing to roid rage

Too bad they can't use him as Bully Ray, which is actually the better character. Without Devon, Bubba just doesn't work quite as well.

On a different note, its kinda funny that in half of the Rock's last 4 appearances in WWE, he has been booed, albeit its not entirely his fault. Just goes to show how lame Vince is.

I don't follow TNA, but I read a story that Velvet Skye was recently released/left the company, and she dates Bubba in real life. Wonder if she's hoping to sign with WWE herself?

I don't think name really matters. Characters change all the time. Well, unless you're John Cena.

RAW will be hollering back to when GAVol was a college student and will have a studio show from WWE HQ LIVE at 8.

Is it wrong that's there's a nostalgic part of me that would rather see Hogan face Rusev at WM than Cena? I just have this picture of Rusev in the ring waiting for Cena, then all of a sudden I Am a Real American starts blaring and out comes Hogan waving an American flag. Rumors have floated around that Hogan would like to wrestle at least one more match so his last match would be in the WWE. I know most younger fans would rather see Rusev beat him, but I'd flashback to childhood if Hogan hulked up and got the victory. Then you could turn around and have Rusev beat the snot out of Cena on the next RAW.

I think he means the Bully mean guy, but Bully Ray belongs to TNA

Yeah, I probably worded what I was trying to say poorly. I'm saying you don't have to change his name for him to act like Bully Ray. He can still be Bubba Ray, yet act like Bully Ray.

But like...what if R Truth became the newest family member. He treated Truth like a Dudley. I could see that and it could take Truth through his current ceiling

if Bubba is back at the beginning of the road to Wrestlemania and you don't have a TLC match at Mania, they should just shut everything down and go home

Honestly, if Devon is done, I'd rather see Bubba as a singles wrestler. I don't think you should overflood the tag-team ranks. But Truth does need a new gimmick.

Bubba vs Ambrose. Tables match. Would be awesome.

So a question occurs to me today - Which hand picked figure is more resented and rejected by the fanbase they are coming in to entertain - Mike DeBord or Roman Reigns?
