It was a dumb move on heupel apart because Washington is at his dream school. He father stared at Ohio state amd he grew up in Columbus. I’m so sick of our university trying to lure people away from their dream school. We went after Elliot (who’s Clemson to his core), Franklin (a Pennsylvania native), in the past we pursued gundy, and of course hire Pruitt. It never works out. Not that guys have to be tn natives but it’s like we dont take into consideration when a guy is currently in his dream job. When you research possible candidates one of the first things that should be considered is how likely are they to take the job! My god. That’s embarrassing

I live across the river from Ahia, they have a very high opinion of themselves. Some would say, too high.

I am guessing you live in Covington.

2 things.

That bridge scares the hell out of me as I have literally seen a chunk of concrete fall from it and the hill during winter is also creepy when it ices and you got a semi doing 70 down it behind you.

I think you’re missing the point. They aren’t as good as they think they are and we aren’t as bad as they think we are.

Are you nuts? I hate the suckeyes but they're bloody good. They are better than you think they are and we are worse than you think we are. Go sniff some more glue...sheesh.

Who turns down that kind of opportunity ? I will tell you who, someone who looks at what the SEC is loaded with in terms of teams, coaches, players etc and understands the fact he would be waaaaayyyy in over his head and walks away having nightmares just thinking about playing SEC teams each weekend after seeing what happens just once a year to oSU when facing the SEC.

If you can believe what you read, Franklin, and Washington were interested enough in Tennessee to have an interview and conduct some serious negotiations. We don't know if Elliott actually interviewed but the search firm has the job of gauging interest prior to interviews and certainly prior to offers. We also don't know that there was serious interest from UTs side..

We didn’t go offer people interviews and certainly not contracts without knowing that they were open to considering it.

If I am Washington, I'm staying at OSU as long as I can. Good reputation and no real challenges until you get to post season. Nice spot for resume polishing. Biggest downside is Ohio winters.
