Buck Fitzgerald was totally grabbing the Florida receiver’s jersey on that 2pt play to finish off Spurrier’s 2001 Gators in the Swamp. It wasn’t much, but it was probably the reason the Gator WR didn’t catch that pass.
By rule, the Eric Gordon interception of that Vandy pass should not have been reviewable (by the rules at the time), even though Dooley called timeout. Should have been a pick - but not a TD.
Wade totally hit Dallas Baker first, but they didn’t call it. Even worse though, there was a clock stoppage as a result - the clock should have run after resetting. Just enough time - and enough penalty yards - to give Wilhoit his shot.
But you know what? Gaffney did NOT catch that pass. So nuts to it all.
