Women's March

Were your wife and daughters out protesting, without knowing what they were protesting?

What a stupid question. They would each be able to quickly give you a list of their top 5 reasons why they think the protests were appropriate. (their list wouldn't all be the same, but there would be one or two issues that showed up on all 3)

Do you really have no clue?

I'm sure that if you asked 50 protesters, you would get a wide variety of responses.

I would say the following list would cover some of them:

Planned Parenthood
Pro Choice
Environmental concerns
Comments on women
Comments about Muslims
Comments about Mexicans
Supreme court appointees
Russian involvement
Education concerns
The overall nasty tone of his campaign
Making fun of the handicapped
The radical side of his supporters
The alt right concerns
Fears of increased racism
Non-inclusion
Concerns he will only answer to rich white men
The way he treated Hillary
The lies he seems to be telling
Gun laws
An outlet to show their disgust and embarrassment
To send a message to the world that many in America are outraged
To show their belief that the country is better than this
lol....that's all I got

They show that the country is better than this by wearing vagina hats.... interesting

So it was just an anti-Trump march and nothing to do with women's rights.

This is my issue here....there's no cohesive agenda that everyone's rallying around. Everyone has their own individual ax to grind, which makes the whole thing come off as disjointed and forces the whole group to lose credibility.

It makes the whole thing look like one big group therapy session for Hillary's loss.

This is pure gold. No one is saying they can't march. It would be easier to respect them if there were intelligent concerns.

Correct, no one should be surprised because my girls are smart, independent women. They wouldn't be out wasting their time protesting without knowing what the hell they were protesting.

Watching some of the interviews with these women my daughter (23) said what rights don't we have?

I'm sure they are, and I'm sure you're not insinuating that mine are not. They are all 3 very successful and intelligent.

I simply said that no one would be surprised.

So it was just an anti-Trump march and nothing to do with women's rights.

Several of the issues I mentioned are directly related to women's rights. They had individual motivators - imagine that - if you are desperately needing a common motivator, my guess (only my guess) is that they wanted to publicly show their shame, embarrassment, displeasure, and/or shock over living in a country that elected Trump as president. In that way, it was more of an anti Trump rally than anything else. (again - obviously just my opinion)

So this was just a crybaby pee pants display of stupidity because their candidate didn't win. Got it.

Now, tell us something we don't know.

I find the act of abortion abhorrent, I also find the thought of multitudes of children that would be reliant on the state due to irresponsible parents detestable. I view abortion as evil but what borders on a necessary evil if we are to be able to afford to keep any semblance of a welfare safety net in place.

What I see with that march is a celebration of what should be considered a tragedy. Regardless of pro-choice or pro-life, abortions should not be something to celebrate be happy about.

If you view abortion as a human life taken... Something is seriously wrong with a society that uses the murder of children as birth control and financial easment policy.

Planned Parenthood
It's not my place to fund that type of organization. They want it let them pay for it themselves
Pro Choice
Valid concern but RvsW probably not going anywhere
Environmental concerns
Difference in conservative view and liberal. Too bad.
Comments on women
how do you protest something that is not policy or that happened in the past
Comments about Muslims
If wanting to make sure that the radical portion of their religion doesn't get in to the US then is bad then not sure what to tell you. Where are these folks protesting when the radicals have one of their attacks
Comments about Mexicans
See comments on women
Supreme court appointees
Too bad, a conservative won. He's going to appoint a SCOTUS that fits his ideology
Russian involvement
Were they protesting Hillary's involvement with the Arabs
Education concerns
Did the protest when Obama's educational follies that last eight years
The overall nasty tone of his campaign
Would they have had a protest if Hillary had won? She was just as nasty. Unfortunately that is the norm for a presidential election
Making fun of the handicapped
It was despicable but I don't know what protesting would accomplish
The radical side of his supporters
They really showed them. Who came off as being radical?
The alt right concerns
Fears of increased racism
LOL, the old race card.
Non-inclusion
Another phantom issue
Concerns he will only answer to rich white men
Running the old rich white guys to Mexico and China has been a successful strategy in the past
The way he treated Hillary
Did they protest the way Hillary treated him? It was an ugly campaign on both sides. Unfortunately it's American politics
The lies he seems to be telling
Were they protesting Hillary's lies too? WHat about when Bill was in office?
Gun laws
Which criminals are following the gun laws?
An outlet to show their disgust and embarrassment
Based on many of their behavior including many of the celebrity speakers, who should be embarrassed?
Dang, I should have pretested the last eight years. I was extremely embarrassed as well!
To send a message to the world that many in America are outraged
Maybe I should have protested the last eight years. I was outraged too.
To show their belief that the country is better than this
Better than what? Just because he stands for something different than them? It happens every time we elect a new president. There are winners and there are losers. Try again in four years. Suck it up like conservatives have for the last 8 years.

Sounds like just a bunch of sore losers to me. I don't even like Trump but he was a better alternative to Hillary. The hypocrisy of these women is truly astounding.

That's always been the dilemma - we have a brilliant ruling that should be left as is.

I wouldn't say brilliant as is. I don't agree with abortion (I do view it as murder) but I understand that without it there would be many parentless children and some circumstances maybe abortion is the best option. So it looks we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Many liberals chant "pro choice" but yet the man has no say or choice. A quick google shows some states require both parents consent, but most don't and it's not a federal law to require both parents consent. Yes, I understand it's the woman's body that carries around the baby. But she knew what could happen when she slept with the guy, and if the guy wants his child it should be his right to be able to raise his child. The ruling now isn't beautiful.

He supports privilege, not equality.

Solid post

My MIL was also unsupportive of them. She spent several years in Saudi Arabia so she's pretty familiar with what actual oppression of women looks like. That's what cracks me up about that American flag hijab. If they tried this in the Middle East they'd be stoned. But they're terrified of living here.

I noticed at the march here one of the main leaders is also the head BLM malcontent. Shocking.

The BLM chick is one of the main organizers. They were talking about it on the news Saturday.
