With Joker Phillips out does UT...

Phil won't interview Mitch. He can't win immediately there, and that the first on his list of demands.

I think that would have been on his list of demands 3-4 years ago. Now that his checks from UT are about to end, I think just getting back into coaching will be priority. JMO

I don't think Fulmer is in a position to pick & chose what job he wants. If he wants to coach again this may be the route he has to take. After all, his buyout $$ from UT is ending soon if it hasn't already.

From everything that I've heard their two targets are Cut and Dykes.

I also readily admit I've heard Bobby Petrino come up more in Knox than I have in Lex.

Probably be Dykes. He is a good coach and that would be a big move up for him.

CUT has a pretty good gig at Duke.
I wouldn't think he would go to KY, but who knows.

A lot of similarities to Dooley! On the job for three years, and program got worse every year. Yesterday was KY's worse loss to Vandy ever, and TN worse defensive game ever.

On some level, Petrino is probably on both boards. He may be their first choice and our sixth choice. But I don't see what we are waiting for. Grow a pair hart and let's start the upward climb. We just throwing good money after bad now

Dykes would also likely bring Tony Franklin with him, unless LaTech hired him as a head coach.

The same guy that told me that Joker was gone today also told me their candidates. Barnhart loves Cut. I'm just passing on what I've heard.

I personally think a good coach could make KY relevant, contrary to what most on VN think.
The are in a good location, beautiful country around Lexington and there is a ton of talent in a 150-200 mile radius.

I can't understand it either. There has to be, at least I hope, a very good reason Hart has been completely silent.

The ironic thing is that Cut turned that job down 15 years ago when he was an OC. Can't imagine he wants it while he's a head coach.

Still, the more teams move forward with thier coaching changes (KY, Arky, Auburn), the less qualified targets to replace Dooley.

Scary silent right now.

Scary silence right now could be a very good thing.

In every TV and print interview here in the Triangle area CUT likes his status at Duke. he has plans for stadium renovations and the admin is seriously looking at them. Work out facilities are improving. He is proud of the job he has done building Duke to a bowl eligible team and says he can take the program further. Also in the local press, the DUKE admin loves CUT. Why would he leave DUKE at his age and station in career?

Barnhart also really loves J Phillips from what I've read & that didn't work out well. Not a knock on Cut but I think they could do better.

You don't think a proven winner and a NC Coach would draw recruits to UK? Not to mention all the pro's Fulmer put into the NFL? Add to that, the POSSIBILTY of Ron Zook as DC and recruiting coordinator? Let's remember, it was Zook's recruits that won Meyer's first NC at UF. Fulmer is their Home Run Hire. Not to mention, it is close to home, for the family. Not a huge interruption of everyday life, for the Fulmers. Add to that, Fulmer has learned from his experience at UT, not to rest on his loins. Plus, I'll bet he's got an staff of coaches, with winning in their blood, ready to step in. Fulmer can turn UK around, and make them relevant again. Thus making us even more irrelevant, without our own "Home Run" hire at HC.

So I say, GET CRACKIN" Hart!!

Because the SEC is the big time! And KY can pay him a million a year more.
