Plus, the issue you raise to me is moot. I'm not in a position to even take the vaccine for, likely, months. So, in the meantime, I can aggravate you by letting you know I'll think about whether I want to take this novel vaccine.

So I have seen this surgery analogy used and have a question. Do you not see the huge difference between surgeons and nurses in surgery room and people in Walmart?

What if we find out in 10-20 years that the vaccine causes a dramatic increase in pancreatic cancer? You were young, healthy, and less then a one percent chance of dying from the virus. But oops now you got something that will probably kill you. Tough trade off to ask from young healthy people.

Side note here. There is a reason why we haven’t, until now, advised people to wear masks in public. It’s bc they are more likely to make themselves sick bc they don’t wear them properly, have a false sense of security, and they tend to touch their face more often.

Polio, Rotavirus, HIB, Measles, Rubella, Mumps, Tetanus, Hepatitis, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria and Pertussis have all been eradicated or severely limited in infection rates since they were introduced.

It's bewildering that anyone would not want a vaccine that could possibly prevent them from death. Given the "why not try it" hullabaloo about the hydroxyquinoline here last week by the same crowd, I can't help but be puzzeled by the irony.

I’d say there’s a greater chance of having a freak reaction to a relatively unknown Vaccine. Actually, your risk of dying, should you contract CV19, is around 0.01%. That means you have overestimated your risk by at least 100-fold. Keep in mind that routine fatality rates do not factor in comorbidities, so if you are healthy, it is even lower than that.

The argument could easily be made that a viral infection with a 1 in 100 risk of death to a 25-year-old is dangerous enough to justify taking a vaccine with an unknown long-term safety profile. If that risk moves to < 1 in 10,000, that might change a lot of people's opinions.
