Will there be any new Assistants?

There won't be 5 more than likely 2-3 including S & C coach. I don't believe Debord will be forced out and I also do not believe UT will pay coordinator type pay to 3 coaches in a co-coordinator scenario. Just my opinion

I think there will be atleast 3-4 but 4-5 is very likely.. atleast according to LWS and Coach Mathews.

Facts are, we have had one of the best offenses the SEC the last two years, especially 2016. Our QB was 2016 SEC offensive player of the year. Good grief, our offensive coaches have to be the worst in the history of Tennessee football. You guys are a little short on facts and logic.

Our OL has been mediocre when it's been at its best. Dobbs has made them look substantially better than they are for 3 years. Mahoney is a weak link.

Let's assume you are right. If so, why did Jones keep an incompetent coach on staff for all 10 of his years as an HC? If Mahoney hasn't been teaching them correctly and Jones tolerated him for the last 3 years.... what does that tell you?

It isn't the spread option per se. It is specifically what they seem to be doing with the OL.

Early on there were some former UT OL's who expressed confusion at what Jones was trying to teach the OLs. That specific quote would be hard to find but it was posted here. The techniques were a departure from what UT had done going back to Fulmer.

That's not entirely true. Jones' system is nuanced. He put his stamp on it.... at least that's what he's said.

The worth of an O system is what it does against great D's.
So you will argue that the OL was all hunky-dory against UT's better opponents this year? Are you REALLY going to make that argument?

UT scored plenty on SEC Defenses Florida, Georgia, Vandy, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech.

Butch's system is not individual, Name one thing we do on offense that no one else in the country does?

Man, they not gonna do anything now til after the bowl game. Then they will probably start moving things. Patience!!

Had forgotten that we hired Shoop and Scott before Christmas last year.

Man you are just like my wife. Always gotta have that added extra dig at the end.

Maybe this IS your wife, following you around everywhere for an extra dig when you least expect it. You know -- we never know when we're in the presence of an angel.

I would have hoped to see some movement by now. Oh well, Tennessee football is dead to me anyways.

Moron mentality when someone expects things they no very little about to happen on their time schedule. Happy you're gone. The fan base needs far less people with that mindset.

But sadly, you'll be back.

A few questions for you Sir if you dont mind?

1. Could this concept not been expressed in one of the other 15 coaching threads?

2. What indication did you have that coaching changes would be make before the bowl game?

3. If Tennessee football is dead to you, why are you posting on a Tennessee football forum?
