Will there be any new Assistants?

From folks who know a lot more than I do...a change in Strength and Conditioning Coach is a done deal. I like the idea of bringing in the Rams coach or former successful UT player-now-coach. I also would like to see Terry Fair coaching at UT. Lord knows we can improve in the secondary. Finally I would like to see a line coach who can recruit 300 pounders who can push SEC lineman around get a job at UT. We are woefully poor on both lines.

It sounds promising. Am I wrong in saying.

1)likely butch won't fire anyone until after the bowl and likely after they've had a chance to field other offers.
2)we would likely wait until the new OC was in place before making more offensive staff hires or at least get some input from the front running candidate.
3)Gillespie is the one that is getting a lot of interest from other teams that we would like to hold onto?

I dont know if anybody will be replaced, but I just passed Butch and the entire staff and wives on the way out the door of Jeff Ruby's, and they all looked like they were attending a wake.

Debord needs to go as well, our play calling is too predictable.

Shoops should've been able to bring his own assistants with him, I can't say that's 100% the fault behind our defensive issues but I believe had he brought his guys in we would've been a little better off.

Azzani I think needs to go, we have an insane amount of receiver talent but see very little production out of that group as a whole.

If Botch Jones doesn't find another gig, he needs to clean house. Only problem is, what legitimate asst. going to come here knowing his ass is scorching red come next season.

I thought Azzani did a nice job with the WRs this year.... Unfortunately Mahoney's crew can't run or pass block. Mahoney, Debord and Martinez should get bounced IMO

I too really would like to see Terry Fair return as our DB coach. But I will say if that doesn't happen another name I like is Al Pogue, he is the DB coach/Recruiting coordinator at Troy, has history in the SEC coached at auburn for a few years. In the few years he's been at Troy their secondary has been amongst the best in the nation.

As for DL I like the Hoke idea if strip is moving to another role. If Hoke isn't the option some other names I like are... Ron Burton from Michigan state they are always putting good defensive lineman into the pros and amongst the tops in nation in sacks and run defense,

another name I like is Rodney Gardner would be a tough pull from auburn but good recruiter and develops the d line well...

Rodney Garner has always been a recruiting ringer...mediocre coach. Brought in some of our most epic talent (core of a NC) in his stint with us. DCs have to compensate when he signs on tho.

when UT allowed Rodney Garner to go to Ga., was the beginning of the end for Fulmer as a top coach. talent level fell continually until the end. then dooley came along and it dropped even more:banghead2:
Garner had some questions in his recruiting method, but as far as I know he's never been caught.:whistling:

Forgot the next recruiting guru we had after him who Donnan also snatched up. Both got coaching positions...but weren't good coaches. So Donnan got an influx of talent but the teaching/development suffered.

I'd say if Hoke doesn't come then the DL coach at Penn State would be a possibility. Spencer is a highly regarded coach who worked with Shoop since 2011. Terry Fair sounds fine to me as long as Shoop is alright with it. We need to get his guys in here and not Butchs

Marion Hobby, but previous staffs passed on him earlier so he may have no interest. He is also titled co DC

well now that the bowl game is over, it will be interesting to see what changes will be announced. I would guess we start to hear of them real soon!

Will UT wait until after national signing day or can we expect some coaching changes earlier than that?
