Yes. Bring in Freeze, to hell with the do-gooder critics. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Not only should we not care about Freeze’s past “indiscretions”, we should get him an account set up with hookers on retainer from the Mouse’s Ear.

No blue font or a /s.

I’m all for it. Let’s get this guy here and start scoring some damn TDs

Have you already forgotten how incredibly bad the OL was this year under Friend. Here, let me remind you...

-dead last in the SEC in rushing yards per game

-dead last in the SEC in yards per rush

-#1 in the country in running plays resulting zero or minus yards...happened an astounding 32% of the time this season

-had -3 yards rushing going into the 4th quarter vs Charlotte. Finished with 20 yards rushing on 26 rushes. Similarly couldn’t run on UTEP either, one of the worst defenses in the country.

-Not sure how many hits JG took this year, even when throwing quick game, but it had to be some sort of NCAA or SEC record.

-dead last in the SEC in tackles for loss allowed (just under 8 per game).

-#119 in the country out of 130 teams in tackles for loss allowed per game...92 in 12 games. Wow!
Do you remember how much worse they were last year? Lost TWO key players for the bulk of the year and have been required to try and make linemen that weren't even ready for the scout squad into SEC caliber. If we keep changing because the results are instantly perfect, this team will NEVER get better. Constant change/chaos is not the answer.

Exactly
Even though I like Kingsbury, Freeze would be an absolute beast

His offense gave Bama fits and he can recruit with the best

Break the bank for JB Cooter. Things aren't going great for the Lions with an aging Stafford at QB.

Yeah, no thanks. That was at CSU. Here, at UT, in the SEC, he just authored the worst OL performance in program history. He needs to be replaced, not promoted.

Disagree. This line's failure to achieve absolutely starts with the players' lack of performance, not the coaches' lack of coaching. It's time to recognize that the cupboard was nearly empty. That's not on Friend, that's on past recruiting failures and a number of unexpected misfortunes including illness and injury.

That's not to say that Friend is the OC answer.

College head coaches (i.e. Cutcliffe and Kiffin) and NFL coaches (Cooter) generally aren't going to trade down to a college assistant's position, especially at a struggling program.

Not trying to be ignorant but I don’t get all the fuss for kingsbury? Wouldn’t that be a RPO air raid offense
and what is wrong with that? Do you honestly think we have the 5 up front to blow people off the ball?

No I don’t have a problem with it I just thought pruitt preffered a pro style offense. Multiple tight ends, one or two back sets..etc

Pruitt trying to run a Pro style offense with the guys he had this year is just comical. Again, there was a reason he was our 8th or 9th choice.

We all know Friend is the next OC.

Shut the speculation threads down. Save your energy. Just let the reality set in.

Everyone on this site who has been through all the coaching searches knows in their hearts, deep down inside, how this ends.

It ends with a huge thud.....

If TN does one thing well anymore it has perfected the art of underwhelming.

So let’s all give a big cheer for our new OC Friend.

Hip hip hoo.....aw screw it!
