Plenty issues with talent. But we still were missing routine assignments the last two weeks. By Pruitt’s on admissions, we were bad fundamentally this past week, taking the wrong first steps, missing calls and letting guys run free. No, Friend was just awful this year...our OL wasn’t talented, but it should’ve improved as the year went on, and it never did.

They had 391 total yards, including 144 yards rushing, against Alabama. As for the o-line, we both know most of that sh**show comes down to having basically no S&C program during Butch's last two years. Most of those starters were undersized and weak. I'll withhold judgement until next season. Sam Pittman's o-line at UGA during his first season was not good. Huge turnaround the next year. Hard to judge the guys on the o-line and d-line until they've had a couple offseasons in a good S&C program.

Wasn't Friend very well thought of as the OL coach at Georgia, and at CSU. A guy doesn't become a bust just because he comes here to coach. Helton isn't a bust either, I don't personally think he's great, but this team needs more than one year of coaching. It needs years to undo and years to replace. If Helton and Pruitt have a philosophical or personal difference then ones gotta go for the long term health of the program. Back to the original point though. When Friend and Helton were hired everyone wondered who would be OC and there were many who thought Friend should be that.

Have you already forgotten how incredibly bad the OL was this year under Friend. Here, let me remind you...

-dead last in the SEC in rushing yards per game

-dead last in the SEC in yards per rush

-#1 in the country in running plays resulting zero or minus yards...happened an astounding 32% of the time this season

-had -3 yards rushing going into the 4th quarter vs Charlotte. Finished with 20 yards rushing on 26 rushes. Similarly couldn’t run on UTEP either, one of the worst defenses in the country.

-Not sure how many hits JG took this year, even when throwing quick game, but it had to be some sort of NCAA or SEC record.

-dead last in the SEC in tackles for loss allowed (just under 8 per game).

-#119 in the country out of 130 teams in tackles for loss allowed per game...92 in 12 games. Wow!

An OC can has to work within the framework given by the head coach. I'm wondering what influence Pruitt has had on the offense Helton has been allowed to run. The same question arises if there's a new OC.

Wow...I had no idea that I said the o-line was great this year. Thanks for arguing against that terrible point that I so clearly tried to make.

Bruh... Friend didn't call the plays there. Similar to Helton at WKU.

Friend was primarily the OL coach at CSU, and what a great OL coach he is.

A huge amount, though there are other factors and this is a false dichotomy.

Every fan with half a brain knew in the Spring this team would have 2 serious issues - OL and CBs. Well, both got beat up this season, surprise surprise. Worst yet, the OL lost both Kennedy and then Smith. This after a DISASTROUS 2017 OL...that went on to, at some point, lose or graduate Jones, Kendrick, Thomas, Boulware. Then they switch philosophies...good god! Butch linemen trying to play bully ball after missing years of legitimate and consistent S&C and OL coaching.

Wow. Better blame that single position coach that had 8 months to turn our known worst position group into a juggernaut LMFAO. You girls are incredible with both your lack of knowledge of "your team" and a lack of basic logic.

Fulmer himself once said the OL can rarely improve throughout the season. It is the ultimate developmental and S&C-dependent position group.

No to Kingsbury. Hes a decent coach but that's not an SEC offense without a Manziel type. If we're looking for a HC who just got canned then we need Fedora.
