Why won‘t Heupel take sole responsibility for Saturday

Pat locked her own team out of the locker room because "they" were not playing up to Tennessee standards. Perhaps a lesson for some?
And one season when they were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament and even after their season ended, she made her team do drills. She was very tough, firm, but she loved her players and did whatever she could to force them to learn from their mistakes. Rest in Peace, Pat. They don't make coaches like you anymore.

Yes it was a team loss; but I am very disappointed that Heupel keeps saying „we“ and „us“ instead on „I“ and „me“.
Great leaders share the praise but accept the blame.
I would have so much more respect for Heupel if he just came out and said „I screwed up“.
The Joe’s and Jill’s failed to execute.

You don’t think Bama would have put two backers in the A gap for that? The call honestly wasn’t terrible and a good throw probably scores. We mismanaged the clock but people are really losing their minds over this and it’s just not logical
The call was terrible. Even the commentators and half time show talked about it. What’s not terrible about calling the same play after bama takes a time out to plan for said look? What’s not terrible about calling a run fake when there is 0 chance you run the ball?

Heup didnt throw that ball, but surely we can admit it was a terrible call? Why not?

No the play call wasn’t terrible. Hubbs AP and even Crompton said they didn’t have a problem with the call. It was a good call. We have seen teams around the nation run that play on the goal line. The fact is and like I said Crompton talked about it, Joey made a terrible throw. If he puts air on that ball and floats it a little it’s likely a TD.

Sorry but the people who know much more about the game of football disagree with you. Also if that throw was a TD (like it should have been) you wouldn’t be complaining.

“we/us” is the proper pronoun. This is a team sport. It is not all on one individual.

I don’t care who supposedly knows what. Coming out of the timeout, same set, no timeouts, #3 in the route with only a couple mop up catches all year and the slowest player on the field with lowest catch radius the other target, as the qb has a defender in his face and dline we left a short rb on to block 1 v 1 against a defense who didn’t think for a second about honoring the run, and no sight line to throw on a pass with no room for error to the right flat where JA struggles most with the most dangerous pass near the goalline because it can be a pick 6.
Nothing about that call was good.

Tennessee lost. Blame whoever makes you feel better. The real question is do we wait on CJH, or go out and get a proven winner? UGA and Bama are technically "down" this year. Both breaking in new qb's. This was a year to beat them both. And Florida sucks kok. We may have just blown our best opportunity to beat all 3 of our nemesis in 1 seaaon for the next few years....

I don’t think teletubby Bobby has a sense of urgency.

High and outside throw to a 6’5” TE was the pass that shoulda been thrown.

Might not have made the catch but highly unlikely a pick 6 ensues.

Questionable clock management on the goaline but I don’t hate the call if executed properly

Well he isn't the one playing....so it is a we, us, etc.

Orangetsar,Where exactly did Coach Heupel screw up?He did not drop a pass.He called a play that if it were an incomplete pass,Tennessee could have kicked a field goal.It ws a we loss. Not one person. But all.A team game is what football is called.

I don't give a rat's ass what he says to the media, only how he deals with it with the team and fixes it. Fans get way too caught up in what players and coaches say publically just so they can feel better or something.

If he gets it fixed and the same mistakes don't keep happening, that's what concerns me. If they keep happening, then it has to be addressed, but mea culpas in press conferences are meaningless in reality.

Brother, with respect, it seems to me that the same mistakes keep happening every year and it’s year five.

One the earliest payers for players and championships. Teamed with Wealthy Los Angeles Contactor Sam Gilbert and bought all his players new Cars. Their 2nd string team was better than most 1st team across the nation. Wooden was way ahead of his time "if you aint cheating you aint trying".
Okay, here‘s another one NOT from Wooden

Ok, Bama and UGA are "technically down" this year because they are breaking in new QB's.

So what kind of year is Tennessee in given we are starting a new QB who wasn't on campus until the summer and was not ranked by recruiting services coming out of high school?

Heupel will probably never throw a player under the bus publicly. While the play call on the pick 6 was bizarre if executed well we score. It was a bad throw from a QB who was clearly not at his best after getting hammered on 2 different plays. He just didn't have the zip on the throw. It was a dumb play call in that situation which would have required perfect execution.
That being said, had they gone 4 wide and just run a QB draw he probably walks in untouched.
I disagree. That call was ridiculous. With that much time on the clock they knew we had to throw the ball and the DB played the quick pass.
