Why the Cheap Shots in the Outback Bowl?

Shut up and play ball, if you want to be a running QB you're gonna get hit and sometimes in the head, that's why they gave up leather helmets.

All the hit's our defense put up were legit.... our kicker is another story.

It wouldn't have been so bad if he had just ridden him down by the facemask.... but he took his forearm and planted it in the back of that guys neck and planted him. That was a little cheap IMO.

All in all.... it was a tough game for the Badgers' QB... he's tough.

Yeah Rusty, they were all vicious hits...and after the game, our players deflowered your cheerleaders. Go back to munching on your cheese danish now.

I have less respect for the Big 10 than I had yesterday, except for Michigan, they apparently know how to play football. If you can't take a hit, try swimming, golf or bowling. Coincidentally, those three activities have women's teams at most schools, so just to be on the safe side, your players might want to complete their operations before changing sports.

Well, to start with, the Wisconsin quarterback gets my vote for College Football's Drama Queen for this year. What a wusse...

Number two, I wonder how much the Wisconsin crowd and the QB's parents got in royalties from ESPN because they showed more of them than the game itself.

Number three, the UW QB lowered his head a lot and that causes helmets to get closer upon contact and is dangerous...I'm surprised he didn't get knocked crazy this year if he did that all year.

Number four, I am tremendously pleased to see the intensity in tackling back at home in K'town...at times this year I worried about soft hits but it looks like the "CONTACTNESS" is back!

Number five, I'm glad Cut is through with his weird calls...geez.

Number six...I guess that with all things considered, this team weathered a lot this year and began to show the signs in the latter stages of the campaign of a super 2008!

GO VOLS!!!!!!!

Am I the only one who thought the Vols had some dirty hits in the bowl game? It seemed like they were intent on delivering shots to the head and/or late hits, especially to the other QB. I'm all for aggressive play, but that was too much. The academic suspensions were embarrassing enough: you don't needs play like that to raise additional "character" issues about the program on a national stage.

I noticed it to.

A Wisconsin Cry Baby and a Tennessee Wuss. How Sad.

3. The "dirty hit" was correctly called when our line man through an arm at the QB. That's the only one I saw that was a problem.
If you are referring to Mapu, I don't think that hit was dirty. It looked to me like he was pushed by the Badger O lineman into the qb. His back was almost to the qb. When he was pushed it seems natural instinct would be to reach out for something to grab to stop a fall.

It was just hard nosed football. Wisconsin hadn't been hit like that all year. I bet ohio state didn't lay the wood to them like our boys did yesterday. I never saw a helmet to helmet hit either. Berry hit more with his shoulder when he beheaded their qb in the endzone.

WHAT? Is this guy kidding or what? This is the most ridiculous thread ever, hey News Flash. This is Football and in the SEC we hit hard, if you want to pout you can watch the WAC or some crap like that.

Not a good first post, maybe you should try again.

In his defense, I doubt he practices tackling as much. Was it me or was he just crazy fast, he was outrunning everyone to make that tackle.

All I saw was legit non helmet to helmet tackles. It was agressive and the way SEC football should be played, I was so proud of the defense and am holding my head up high for these kids, they should be proud. Go VOLS!!!
