uh, no. i do think that there is time limit on how many years you can continue to lose 3-4 games a year...if you are doing that every year you are more than likely losing to a combination of Bama, SC, GA, and/or FL year in and year out. that is not acceptable. have one of those every now and then, fine, but for that to be the norm, we call that South Carolina.Well, let the AD hire a new coach and see how far we get. The logical approach is to give it about 4-5 more seasons having a great winning % and handing it over to Cut.
don't know if i would go that far, but i agree with you i do. 4-5 years of 8-4/9-4 type years...and we'd be way over due on some serious changes.Yeah, 4 or 5 more 9-4, 8-5 type seasons will put the program in great shape. If this garbage is allowed to go on for four more years, UT should drop football.

the difference being here that the cupboard isn't exactly bare, and it probably won't be for the next 4-5 years. You are correct. It is similar to the situation that happened at Texas A&M with good ole home grown RC Slocum. They kept letting him stay on with a program in decline because of his previous sucess. When he left the cupboard was bare and only now is Fran starting to pull A&M out of the doldrums.
Remember this:
Orange Bowl beatdown by Nebraska, after the game Coach Fulmer says, we've got to get more physical!
Cotton Bowl blunder in the snow by a Sorry Kansas State, Coach Fulmer states, we've got to get back to playing Tennessee football.
Peach Bowl Part 1 Maryland whips us, Coach Fulmer response, we've got to get more physical!
Peach Bowl Part 2, The world beater Clemson schooled us in this one. Coach Fulmer states, we've got to get back to playing Tennessee football.
Outback Bowl, fizzle in drizzle compliments of Penn State. Coach Fulmer states we got work like "HECK" and get back to playing Tennessee football.
These kind of statements just baffle me. I enjoy that famous line used after each regular season game in the post game radio show that goes like this, We got to go look at the film. Bull$&!+.:salute:
...There are at least 25 or more schools that would love to have him as head coach and get the talent he has got at UT! One cannot expect a 10 win season every year...
No he shouldn't be fired, if anyones fired send Roper packing. His RBs' stunk this year.
