I guess the answer to the question is because he wouldn't be easily controlled by Haslam's. Some of you guys say because his teams don't play D - which is BS, #15 in Total D this year, but that's not it. He'd tell Jimmy to jump in the river.

I guarantee Mike Leach at UT beats Alabama, Georgia and Florida on a regular basis.

WSU beat USC and Stanford this year.

The Tennessee Football coaching search has been full of wild, unpredictable turns. And Thursday has been no different.

A source has told A to Z Sports Nashville that Tennessee Vols athletic director John Currie met with Washington State head coach Mike Leach for lunch in Los Angeles Thursday.

The meeting took place at the “Cast & Plow” restaurant in Marina Del Ray and lasted about two hours. A to Z Sports Nashville learned of the lunch as it was happening at 12:45pm PT.

Jayson Swain of the “Swain Event” tweeted about Currie being on the West Coast. And Volquest’s Brent Hubbs said he had been told the same thing by multiple sources and that Currie was scheduled to return to Knoxville soon. An independent source told me that they heard a Currie-Leach meeting had also taken place.
