Danny White is the person responsible for making an appeal on behalf of the University of Tennessee because he is the head honcho of the athletic department. Danny White can’t suspend Payne, reprimand Payne, or tell UF what to do, but he can file a complaint to the SEC office.
You don't know that he never did this. He has no obligation to air out everything he does on Twitter.
If no complaint is filed, then Sankey is not going to unilaterally take action.
Disagree. Sankey knows what he did. Jauan Jennings didn't get suspended for stepping on the Vandy player because of anything Vandy did. Sankey made that call himself because Jennings would've gotten off scot-free otherwise, since there was no in-game punishment. It's not like Payne didn't get punished at all. He got ejected from an SEC Tournament game which is a pretty big deal. While I'd agree that the action warranted more than that, again that's beyond UT's jurisdiction to actually make happen.
In effect, it’s up to Danny to make sure he’s done his part.
Again, you don't know he didn't.
On the other hand, Mike White could have, and should have, suspended Payne. I’m not talking about one game. That would be absurd. If Payne is allowed to play tomorrow, it wreaks of politics and misdeeds.
Agree. But again, what UF does or doesn't do isn't something UT can control.
