Why all the hate from memphis fans?

If you have examples of Pearl outright lying, I'd like to know.

However, if there's more than a kernel of truth in the stuff he says about another program, that is fair game.

I've never once said Bruce does it.

I just explained what negative recruiting was.

Prince is far far far too inconsistent to just look at one game. If you look at his entire body of work here at Tennessee you'll see he can only shoot it 2 ft from the rim or closer, has some of the worst foul shots I've seen from a player who aspires to be a PG, makes some horrible decision with the ball, and who complains like no one else when he gets caught sticking those lanky arms around the defender to try and poke the ball away.

vs. Xavier- 23 points. And of course he's inconsistent, he missed the first 11 games, and he had shoulder surgery in the offseason. Not to mention he was in a coma a year ago. He would not be playing if he didn't help us.

Understood completely.

Since Hat feels that Bruce does engage in negative recruiting, I'd love to hear an example, albeit highly redacted so that sources don't get revealed or can be deduced by the story.

He's loud, obnoxious and can be confrontational. He's also a pretty good coach that backs up most everything he says. So when he tells you what he thinks and how bad his team is going to beat you, he usually does it.
Sounds like a certain "Cocky" football coach. :)

Love em if he coaches your team.....otherwise.....

During the recruitment of Ramar Smith, Pearl told him that one of the other schools recruting him was about to be the subject of an NCAA investigation. That was patently false.

The fact that Ramar Smith is even at Tennessee speaks volumes about why some coaches don't like him

Maybe he was talking about Arkansas's track and field program? :p

I guess going back and forth on this beats talking about South Detroit (or is it East Arkansas?)

Because in just about every state, every university that is not the flagship hates on the flagship. The flagship gets more exposure, respect, money, etc. It's the little guys vs. the big guys mentality. I can't blame them, but that's where it's coming from.

I've been casually reading Memphis message boards today.

Why all the extreme Vols hate from them? I don't get it...

Did I miss something? Whats the deal...? My mom and Dad, aunt and uncle all did undergrad at memphis State and graduate school at UT. I have never looked at this as a big rivalry for obvious reasons I guess.

Anyone have the inside scoop on the jealousy?
Both put out great grads!!!:thumbsup:Everyone wants to be the best.TN. Bigger!!!
