who's predicting a double digit win over UF

Their secondary will be as good but not as good as last year. Their lb's will be worse and so will the DL.

They have one QB and no one knows if he's any good. They are worse at TE and that sets up that entire offense. I don't see a game breaker outside of Callaway on that offense and he's still suspended.

If what they say is true, I doubt that Callaway ever comes back. Doesn't really matter though, Gators were terrible against the run last year and with the losses on defense they had absolutely will NOT be better in stopping Hurd, Kamara, and Dobbs. Tennessee lost virtually no one. That's a big deal.

He'll be back the week of the TN game. I guarantee it. They're scared and will do whatever it takes

UF's offense will be dramatically better this year than last, better at every single position, excpet maybe TE where they lost McGee, but return two solid guys. They got the #1 Juco RB in the country in Mark Thompson, a guy that goes 6'2" 240. Their O-line returns everyone, those 3 true Freshmen OL who were in the game for the Callaway TD v UT last year are all grown up now. They get their best WR back in Callaway plus a whole bunch of other typical UF guys to choose from.

Their defense will be just as good as last year, studs everywhere. This game will be an absolute battle, probably very similar to last year.

Riiiiiight.........

I also don't get the love for David Sharpe. He's solid but not great. I believe they moved Ivey to guard. I would be very worried about the opposite side of that OL.

What? That would be great to keep the same 5 guys at O-Line the entire game. Rarely happens.

With the way we will be able to rotate at DL your Oline will always be dealing with a fresh player. Big boys get tired with no plays off. I think this will really show up at DE when Kyle Phillips and other speed rushers are running circles around your tackles.

You say this as if you have evidence to back your opinion up.

As of right now Florida's offense is a question mark. And if anything, the objective evidence says they will probably be WORSE on offense.

How come?

The guys they have coming in this year were lower ranked coming out of high school than the guys they replaced.

Remember, Florida's starting QB last year Will Grier was a big time 5 star recruit. The guy replacing Grier, Luke Del Rio was a nondescript recruit that had to walk-on at Alabama. Then transferred to Oregon State knowing he was never going to play at Alabama. And after losing out at Oregon State transferred to Florida.

Kelvin Taylor, Florida's starting RB, was also a big time 5 star recruit. Who knows if this Thompson kid is any good but coming in he was not as highly regarded as Taylor.

Florida has not recruited up to their standards the last 2 years. I don't know why you think they'll simply be able to reload this year after losing 7 players to the draft last year from a team that had 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes on campus before 2015.

All signs point to Florida being worse this year. The guys they lost are being replaced by less touted players regardless of the hype coming out of Gainesville.

I'm pretty sure that Grier and Taylor were both 4 stars, but point taken in general about talent. The Gators have about 3 players on their offensive line that I would consider talented players. The rest are mid major players.

I recently did a comparison between Tennessee's, Florida's, and Kentucky's Offensive and defensive line recruiting over the last 3 years. Florida's star average per player over that period of time was closer to Kentucky's star average than it was Tennessee's. The Gators don't have anything near the talent the used to on the OL, and in the defensive front 7. Next year they are completely screwed on the DL unless they can sign two or three quality JUCO defensive tackles.

Our offensive line returns 6 guys that started multiple games last year. Just like last year, we will have a rotation. Last years O-Line controlled the UT D-line enough to have a 100 yard rusher and gave the QB enough time to throw the ball. I can't say it enough, this year's offense will be much better than last year's offense, and we score 28 on you last year.

Will not be a battle. TN is better at every position on offense, that's just a fact. TN is better on defense on the DL, at linebacker and potentially at safety. Vols also have best special teams in the country. Florida's offense was garbage last year without Grier. I'm sure Del Rio is better than Harris (who isn't?) but who knows, he's barely played. Won't come into Neyland and face this defense and win. Who knows about your Juco running back, but our 6'4 240 lb RB is one of the best in the country, and better than Florida's, not to mention Kamara as our 1b. TN is just better than Florida. That's a fact.

Remember, Grier never took a snap before last year and rotated the first 3 games before UT.

He was 5-5 for 123 yards and 1 TD (on 4th down conversions) when the game was on the line.

Due to muschamp's incompetence, florida has only 1 or 2 stars on offense, with a mediocre Oline and a journeyman QB. McElwain hasn't had much luck in his 2 years in getting 5 star offensive talent. Fla will have trouble scoring points again this year like last year.

Our defense will be better than last year. We will replace Morrison (who had zero coverage skills) with Anzalone, who started the season before being hurt. Bullard and McCallister will be replaced with CeCe Jefferson and Brian Cox Jr, who both started games last year. Our biggest drop off this year will come in the secondary, where we lose out 3 year starter at nickle - Brian Poole.

You can say what you want about the VHIII and Neal going in the first round, but we played so many guys, that we are going to be better this year.

FYI - Del Rio was an Elite 11 recruit

The two returning RBs are also 4* guys, like Hurd

Years past have nothing to do with the present unless those involved believe it does.
We will SMOKEY these guys. Jinxes don't exist except in the mind of losers.

35-10 and the one gator TD will be a gimme off a TO.

The discussion was that Del Rio had little game experience - I said that Grier had zero experience before the season and he still torched your defense.

I wouldn't say torched, but Del Rio is not Grier. Grier was pretty good roided up out there. Del Rio is a multiple program reject. Good luck

Ya'll have been better for the last 2 years. Guess that doesn't mean much. :good!:

That's why the gators had seven players drafted last year and we had zero?

That's why the gators had EIGHT players drafted the year before and again we had ZERO.

We were not the more talented or experienced team either year. That isn't my opinion that is fact.

My opinion on the fact that we outplayed you the majority of both games and should be playing for a three game streak this year is that our team had better chemistry, better systems and game plans, and a better coaching staff the last two years.

Now we also are more talented and experienced on top of those things. The game is in Neyland and it will be PACKED. Our guys will be ready to rip heads off. Streaks often end in lopsided victories.

not quite...

2 years ago is a huge stretch...our VOLS were mighty young or inexperienced. If nothing else, Muschamp knows how to coach D and had a pretty good one that year too.

Last year it was closer...maybe the edge goes to our VOLS, but UF's D was still legit...which was the only reason they won most of the games they did.

This year I think UT has the better team.

While that doesn't guarantee a win...I believe our VOLS will win this year.

You can't say that's fact because you aren't comparing apples to apples. The only reason UT didn't have any players drafted is because the players didn't declare for the draft. Reeves-Maybin, Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara.. There are probably others. Those guys WILL get drafted. They just haven't done it yet.

So, if we're ranking players based on whether or not they got drafted we should wait until these guys are done with college and then go back and look and count the entire group instead of only focusing on one year.
