who's predicting a double digit win over UF

They would much rather pollute our great board then dwell in the sewers where they belong. Obviously UF doesnt have anyone capable enough to create a message board on the VN level. It's actually pretty pathetic that they are even here.

This is so very, very true.

I hang around because I truly do enjoy reading what all you vols fans post :good!:

ESPN or someone should run a poll for the best sports message board. I bet Volnation would win.

Up by 21? With 30 seconds left? Wayyyyy too much time left to feel comfortable about it IMO.

Heh, KB, man, I gotta say. 21 point lead with 0:30 on the clock is pretty much a lock.

Heck, I was hoping we'd be whupping them so bad by halftime that even you would feel confident in a victory.

I would dearly love to be in the same room as you when it becomes clear we're gonna end the streak...would really like to share in your, my, all of our happiness in that moment. :)

Hard to say I'm not biased, but it really is a fun message board.
Doesn't take long to learn the controls, and once you do, it's set up really well. (Another big shout out to Freak here).

And we have many of each kind of poster to cover the range.
I believe it was 99 Gator who once said he enjoys it because nothing ever dappens Vols enthusiasm.
He wasn't being sarcastic either, he was actually complimenting us on continuing to believe even during the worst times, you know, when we were being Doodled and stuff.

There was indeed a time.....from 1916 to 1953 Tennessee won the first 10 games we played. Since then, we've played 35 games vs Florida and lost 26 of them.....we're 9-26 vs Florida since 1954. Even if you take out the last 11 game losing streak, we're 9-15 the last 24. Thought I'd give you a little Tennessee history lesson since you're not a Vol fan and wouldn't be expected to know.

And if you think there's not added stress and pressure for Tennessee to win this year's game because of, in large part, all that awful history of losing to Florida, you have no idea what you're talking about.

No truer words than your last 8 have ever been written.

That's because we have championship aspirations. The losing streak isn't the pressure in and of itself. Its the fact we're supposed to be the better team that we have tons of pressure to win. And that's rarely been the case the last 11 years.

Kentucky has lost 30 straight years to Florida and they have no pressure to win next year because no one expects them to because they are not a very good team.

Plus even if we manage to beat Florida the same pressure will come to win the following week against Georgia. And then the next week versus A&M. And so on.

If we do our job next year, we'll be playing for higher and higher stakes each week.

I wish you would stop using the word "we". It is quite honestly an insult coming from you about the VOLS.

You have no context, no appreciation for the dynamics involved in our series with Florida. You're young, haven't been around, not a real Vol fan, it's ok. Btw, using Kentucky as an example while making a point about Tennessee football is ridiculous and further underscores your ignorance about Tennessee-Florida.

We are expected to be a championship team this year and we should be. We should also beat Florida this year and win the East, no doubt about it. Those famous last words have been said many, many times over the years and have rarely come about.

Finally, stop with the "we" already.

Regardless of us being 9-15 in the last 24, or 9-26 since 1954, it is evident that we still do beat them at times. No reason to think this won't be one of those times, when we have the more experienced and more talented team.

There was a time Florida never beat Tennessee either.

Times change.

What happened in the past has no bearing on September 24, 2016 in Neyland stadium. What happens that day will be independent of anything that happened before.

Wait a second, so after a history tying 11th loss to the gators you don't think the AD put any extra pressure on the coaching staff to get this win? You don't think watching a 13 point 4th quarter lead evaporate led to the administration approving spending over 2 million dollars on a D coordinator? You are either ignorant or dim when it comes to the pressure UT coaches are under to beat UF.

Your line of logic we beat Florida and mission accomplished? We have bigger fish to fry but it would feel nice for a week.

i'm thinking about those commercials that are on TV right now...have no idea what they're for...but you have dim and ignorant....dignorant. great one.:eek:lol:

The streak will end this year ---- florida doesn't have the talent to match with all the stars on UT's roster---they know it, their fans know it---just a matter of time! UT 33 Fla 13!

And?

Football is football. You can associate higher meaning to this matchup if you want. I look at it as 2 teams playing each other.

And why would I be wrong to compare Tennessee to Kentucky vis a vis Florida? I'm sure Kentucky has many fans who hate losing to Florida as well. However, the rest of college football doesn't care or put any pressure on them to beat Florida. Why? Because they're not a good team.

And whether you like it or not, that's where Tennessee football has been for most of the last 11 years. A bad football team. Nobody talked about a losing streak to Florida outside Knoxville cause Tennessee was losing to EVERYONE before 2015.

Pressure only comes from the fact people thought we were better than Florida last year. And better this year as well.

We have a 9 game losing streak to Alabama. Will we face the same pressure to beat them Oct. 15? No. And why is that? Because the perception is they are better than us.

If we were still at the Dooley stage of talent as a team and McElwain just led Florida to the SEC championship, do you think we would have pressure to beat Florida? Would the media incessantly talk about a 11 year losing streak? Would the Florida players be trash talking our players?

No. Because no one hits down. No one cares about a losing team or program. Especially the media. Nobody talks about Kentucky's losing streak because it's expected they will lose to Florida. Nobody talks about our losing streak to Alabama cause people expect us to keep losing to Alabama.

Its all about expectations.

Mac's second season big influx of off skill pos talent at rb and wr plus let's face it things get better in second season with a coach who knows offense and can call a great game

4th downs lucky? Haha great plays had as much to do with it Mac and Nuss together are something special

Defense is still so much better then a lot of people outside legit gator fans realize tabor only one that gets love

Well you will learn this year Marcus Maye, Quincy Wilson, Duke Dawson/ Chauncey Gardner could equal best DB class in country

Great DL again Caleb, CeCe, B-Cox, J Ivie, etc

Jarrad Davis and a damn solid LB group

So my question after bed ****tin for last 2 years why the 3 touchdown+ blowout presictions?

You guys are in trouble if you are relying on true freshmen in your two deep. That's what we have been doing the last several years and now the roles are reversed.

Most of our two deep comes from two top 5 classes. We also held on to three stars that could have left early for the NFL last year.

We return the most production in all of the Power 5 Conferences. Our entire two deep is talented AND experienced. This will be the first time in a long time we actually have more raw talent than Florida, and it just happened to occur when we also have loads more experience.

We have a veteran senior QB to lead our team. Florida hasn't even officially named a starter as far as I know, and Del Rio is a question mark at best. How much chemistry will he have with the team, especially his receivers.

We have three years of consistency. You guys have one, and I wouldn't say it ended on that great of a note.

Florida lost seven players to the draft, including two top twenty picks from the secondary. That is a lot of production to replace. All of our talent either returned to lead the team, or was too young to leave anyway.

The game will be played in Neyland.

I'm sure I missed some stuff like we will be fielding the top Kickoff Returner last season in Evan Berry as well as the top Punt Returner in Cam Sutton, even Kamara housed one last year and he is back too. Or that Darrin Kirkland is now experienced at middle linebacker, something that was missing last year(and we still should have one.)

Basically, we are flat out better than you at every position except for Kicker. We are more talented, more experienced, more used to our system, and the game is at home. If you guys win this game then there really is some supernatural sh#& going on.

The Florida defense is still Muschamp's and will be an upper-level unit. Scoring more than 30 against them isn't likely. But I see us moving the ball and scoring some points.

Their offense will be efficient, but not likely to be explosive. I think we win if we don't give up easy scores and make them drive the length of the field. I can see a 28-17 score. We'll all see soon enough.

I think we will score over thirty. I see us averaging around ten points a quarter for a total around 35 to 40. I don't think anyone except bama will be able to get our offense off the field consistently. Not because Florida isn't good but because our offense should be borderline unstoppable. They could slow it down but not stop it if our game plan is on point.

As far as their offense vs. our defense I don't see them gelling that early in the season with a new QB. They have some holes in their oline, especially with depth. They don't have a premier back either. Our Dline and backers should feast this game. That leads to turnovers.

Overall they will have talented players and good team speed, but we will pull away due to experience and being comfortable in our system. I expect them to give up a few broken plays due to youth and lack of depth at some positions. Neyland will also be shaking the entire game.

You have no depth anywhere outside of DB.

Come on now, this is a thinner defense this year than the one that let Josh Dobbs run wild on it last year. Our running game will be even better this year with the development of the offensive line.

The Gators are fine at DB and WR, but are lacking in either depth or talent at all other positions. The Vols are stacked everywhere. This is the fastest Tennessee team that I can remember.

The Gators will be Ok this year, but that will probably Equal a 8 - 4 record. You just don't have the offensive fire power or offensive line to get it done.

There is a scenario where we could blow them out, but I wouldn't bet on it. We would need to score a couple early touchdowns and grab a pick-6 or a fumble return for a TD too. If it begins something like 21-0 they're in trouble. They will start pointing fingers and infighting. Tabor could go postal if they don't start off well.

A big problem last year was that we had the ball with a chance to take a three score lead at least twice in that game (20-7, and 27-14). I think it would have put them away. We failed each time, essentially keeping them in the game until they pulled it together and won at the end.

Last years gators had seven NFL draftees playing that won't be this year. That's about 32 percent of their starters that were NFL quality. Can they fill some of those holes? Sure. Can they fill them all and have quality depth? No way. They will be relying on freshman at more than one position.

I don't think we need to get up early, though we probably will. I think del rio will spend a big chunk of the game staring up at the East Tennessee sky. That or our exceptional turf 😂
