who's predicting a double digit win over UF

If they start the same olinemen all game they may have negative rushing yards.

Their o-line last year was thinner and worse than this year and we still weren't able to get consistent pressure on the QB. If we win this game it will have to be because we are a good team, not because UF has turned into a Vandyesque talent team. I think this game comes down to if Butch tries to handcuff Shoop's play calling.

He won't.

The Florida defense is still Muschamp's and will be an upper-level unit..

in their last 3 games, fsu, alabama, and michigan ran all over that D and put up huge yards and points. Receivers were wide open the whole game. The Fla D is overrated---UT will light them up.

Which means they will look bad at the end of the season again. This early in the season depth won't play a big role

Nope. Many nagging injuries occur early in season. If they suffer any injuries to QB, OL, TE, WR, DL or LB, they are in serious trouble.

Has Calloway been reinstated yet?

I read somewhere a few of the Vols players were bullet proof. True story.

Also, Florida's football players are actually little kids from Gainesville elementary. Completely true!

It was on Volnation so must be true! GBO!!

Haha right on. Seriously though, what I was saying is you can't expect to start the same five at oline an entire game while we are rotating eight guys in and out all game. Now that our DLIne is finally getting healthy any depth issues you have at Oline will be a problem whether we play at the beginning of the season or the end.

Florida's defense had quit by then. They are usually locked in when they play us. If we score like those three teams I think they will end up getting hammered in Neyland. I'm not sold at all on their offense. If we score big we win big, because they aren't scoring that much on us imo.

The last 11 years you could've pulled guys from the YMCA and put Florida helmets on them and we would've tinkled down our legs. Ends this year!

How good our D-line is depends on if Tuttle will be healthy enough to play and how much he brings to the field after so much time off. We have serious weakness at the DT position but are strong at DE

I am optimistic about shy as well as Alexis Johnson(maybe). But between them, Khalil, Danny O, Vickers, and Piqou in certain setups I think DT will be a strength. We also, have the option to mix things up with extra DE's if need be. It sounds like Kongbo could definitely play inside.

Prety shure most offences keep 5 OL in the game. Plus defences rotation. Its normal football, but the UT line will be tuff this years.

TN's offense scored twenty something last year and Dobbs couldn't pass at all in that game. Won't happen this year, we'll be able to throw it better, and we all know that nobody can stop our rushing attack. Our offense is better. Florida didn't score but 14 against us until the last 4 minutes when we fell apart. That won't happen. We return nearly everyone to defense, but we have dramatically improved our defense with the addition of Shoop and of course the improvement of the returning talent that we have. Florida, on the other hand, will probably be about the same, if not worse, on defense. I understand, its Florida, and their defense is always good. But, they lost Hargreaves and a few other very good players. I don't know who is behind them or how good they are, but they won't be better than last year I think we can say that pretty confidently. On offense, they'll probably be about the same. Their running back was drafted, I know they signed the top Juco guy, who knows how good he is, I guess we'll find out. Their QB is mediocre, wide receivers are pretty good. But, they struggled against our Jancek led defense until we fell apart late in the 4th. Won't happen with Shoop. Florida has to hope that there really is some sort of mental block and we just shoot ourselves in the foot. Otherwise, we are clearly the better team and 34-6 is around what I believe will happen in Neyland this year. We may score more depending on the passing game. We'll see Sept 24.

We scored 27 last year. The 1st TD came on a trick play WR pass to the QB. The 2nd TD came on a drive where we used a fake punt to get 24 yards. It's not like we were lining up and crushing them off the line last year.

Unless you wanna call the ho-hum 24-10 win over a Zook-coached Gators in 2003 a blowout, you have to go back 24 years to 1992 to find anything close to a blowout, UT won 31-14 that year. Over those same 24 years, UF has racked up wins of 31 points, 25, 39, 24 and two 17-point margins of their own. Now the 45-3 1990 win over Spurrier in year two was a blowout! 26 long years ago. Wow.

It's really incredible how lopsided this series has become. It's not just 11 in a row, it's 9 wins and 26 losses to UF since 1954.

UF's offense will be dramatically better this year than last, better at every single position, excpet maybe TE where they lost McGee, but return two solid guys. They got the #1 Juco RB in the country in Mark Thompson, a guy that goes 6'2" 240. Their O-line returns everyone, those 3 true Freshmen OL who were in the game for the Callaway TD v UT last year are all grown up now. They get their best WR back in Callaway plus a whole bunch of other typical UF guys to choose from.

Their defense will be just as good as last year, studs everywhere. This game will be an absolute battle, probably very similar to last year.

When it counted? Not enough. We moved the ball well on them but only found the end zone twice when it wasn't a trick play. And the worst part is when a 1st down would have pretty much sealed it we couldn't rush for 10 yards.

"Could not" and "would not" are two very different things

Will not be a battle. TN is better at every position on offense, that's just a fact. TN is better on defense on the DL, at linebacker and potentially at safety. Vols also have best special teams in the country. Florida's offense was garbage last year without Grier. I'm sure Del Rio is better than Harris (who isn't?) but who knows, he's barely played. Won't come into Neyland and face this defense and win. Who knows about your Juco running back, but our 6'4 240 lb RB is one of the best in the country, and better than Florida's, not to mention Kamara as our 1b. TN is just better than Florida. That's a fact.

Their secondary will be as good but not as good as last year. Their lb's will be worse and so will the DL.

They have one QB and no one knows if he's any good. They are worse at TE and that sets up that entire offense. I don't see a game breaker outside of Callaway on that offense and he's still suspended.
