As long as Pruitt coaches it's likely we'll always be a conservative run 1st offense. Folks expecting us to throw it 30+ times a game are going to be disappointed.I dont think it really matters
This year with this OLine, Gray and Chandler and no spring training and messed up fall training and finally an inexperienced (but exciting) Wide Receivers group the game plan will be RUN RUN RUN with the odd long pass.
This season will depend on keeping the OLine Covid and injury free and getting Cade eligible.
Your evaluation loses all credibility with your weak arm assessment. JG has the arm to make every throw, it's actually one of his best traits. Your take is awful if you are saying he has a weak arm.JG will be what he always has been. Changing OCs is not the reason he has limited arm strength to throw deep and throws late. That is physical talent and trusting your receivers.
For fans who think he is a serviceable QB, I agree. I also think you get beat a lot of games in the SEC if you do not have good to great QB play. Tenn’s scoring offense has been terrible for the last 3 years. Red zone where the field shortens is a disaster. The QB has to thread the needle in that area, otherwise you get 3 pts instead of seven on most drives.
JG will be the starter for every game, barring injury. Our defense will look good. Our run game will be improved. We will go 5-5 losing 3 games by close margins where JG was the clear reason we lost. Pruitt’s QB decisions & a blow out loss to UF to end the season will put Pruitt on the hot seat going into 2021.
Wonder what our actual coaches know that our couch potatoe neverJG coaches don't know? Weird how so many can be so wrong about our team and who should be playing QB.Rhetorical question? It’ll be JG no matter what. No matter how awful he plays, no matter how well Shrout or Maurer or anybody else plays when they pull JG for his atrocious play. We learned that last year....JG will play no matter what, that much is 1000% clear.
Too much common sense in this post.Put yourself in Pruitt's shoes, you have a 5th year senior who is finally with the same coordinator for a second year. Why would you not ride the senior until you can bring one of the freshmen/sophamores along which will take most of the season or maybe even until next year. JG is not Joe Burrow but he is a serviceable QB and has the most experience and poise under fire. Pruitt has proved he is not afraid to play the best player regardless of whether he is a freshman or senior. I trust this coaching staff and if they put their trust in JG then I am all in.
I don't understand why folks remark on this at all, Pruitt was clear all season that JG was always going to play even when he didn't start, Pruitt literally said on multiple occasions that more than 1 QB was going to play last year.Similar to our guess the score each week, we need to have a weekly thread on "guess the quarter and time" when JG gets pulled and then the quarter and time when he is re-inserted into the offense in the same game.
Pruitt gave an unproven undersized not ready Fr QB 4 starts this past season, your take is absolute garbage. If anything Pruitt proved that he will indeed try someone else at QB if needed.Without a total collapse or injury Pruitt will ride JG like a rented mule. He's already shown us this, I don't expect anything different from coach.
No way any coach is on the hot seat after this "Covid" year (other than Derick Mason).JG will be the starter for every game, barring injury. Our defense will look good. Our run game will be improved. We will go 5-5 losing 3 games by close margins where JG was the clear reason we lost. Pruitt’s QB decisions & a blow out loss to UF to end the season will put Pruitt on the hot seat going into 2021.

Coach treats everyone like that when they screw up, seems to help most of the players. You can go look at our roster before the Florida game and after the Fl game if you want to find out which players couldn't take it. Pruitt cleaned house and we've been a good football team ever since.Agree. I think images like the one below show that JG has had the tendency to speed up that decision to bring in the next QB. Maybe not always when CJP is ready to make that change. Fingers crossed for this year. Really want to see JG have a good season.

They have Bailey on Campus now, so if JG goes out he won’t get back in. I think what kept the coaches from sticking with Maurer (other than his injuries) was the thought that having a sophomore qb as your starter would make Bailey look elsewhere. Bailey is here so I don’t see the musical qbs happening again. Hopefully it clicks for Guarantano and he has a great year, that would probably equal the most wins.JG will start and be out by UGA. Then back in for KY. Out for bama and back till FLA.
How do you know Salter is more athletic? I remember the recruiting services saying Guarantano was more athletic than Dobbs. “Dobbs is fast for a qb, Guarantano is fast for a football player”. That was the statement floating around the year before Guarantano got to campus...Not going to lie, Shrout has as much if not more arm talent besides bailey maybe. There could be a bigger competition next year than anyone thought. I know Maurer has wheels and that’s the new sexy in qb’s in college football but look at Chaney at Georgia and Pruitt at bama. They want a qb that will safely deliver the football and efficiently run the offense. Maurer has a clock because Salter is coming and is more athletic with a cannon.
Salter does backflips and land on his feet not his head. How do you know Salter is more athletic? He's already been having that year the past 2, just with fewer attempts. Better YPA, same TD:INT ratio and comp%. Equal or better QBR. Crompton's bar was just sooo much lower before his SR year it felt like a great year and it was a huge jump for him indeed.I hope he has a crompton style this year hell we should go 7-3 then which isn't bad by any means
