and he just hired Sexton over the summer. he probably did try to see if there was a way out last year, wasn't, so he hired the guy that could find him a landing spot, or get him an extension and raise.
well...no raise and extension granted, so what you think they're working on now???
and yes, i'm sure the fact CBJ is still on the sidelines is in an effort to see if there's any potential clients Sexton could find out if they'd be interested in this job, while also finding CBJ a landing spot, lessening the burden of the buyout on TN, and securing future income for his client.
i wouldn't rule it out. but no, i don't know that to be the case. it just makes some sense, on some level. So you are saying that the next coach at Tennessee might be a a Sexton Client?

I still dont see how it is possible for the same agent to potentially represent the outgoing coach and the incoming coach without creating a huge conflict of interest
agree....and now that no extension has been given, it's probably a good thing to have the best agent in the business working for your to help find you a new home....That is possible, but I suspect he hired Sexton because he didn't get an extension. Mullen hired Sexton last year when he didn't get an extension.
