Most football analysts predicted another losing season for Tennessee this year based on the inexperienced players that would have to play. This should not come as a surprise to find UT where they are at this time. Depending on so many freshmen to play major minutes is really not an ideal situation for winning in any sport. Butch has done an admirable job, considering. A top five recruiting class last year and another one coming this year, building the depth that is needed in the SEC. This was not going to be a quick turn around for our team. "Fans" who are giving up, jumping ship, done, whatever, were not being realistic in their expectations this year. These guys are playing their tails off every week, and it has been about three mistakes at crucial times in the games that are the difference in being 2-3 and 5-0 or 4-1.
Go ahead and bash away at Butch, the team, the assistant coaches, but the real fact is that this team is giving its all for Tennessee every game. There is no quit from anyone. Go on and quit on the team, fill up the stadium with empty seats, show the kids who have already committed and those who are strongly considering Tennessee that we are an unfaithful unrealistic fan-base, and watch as the class disintegrates before your very eyes. I would be at every home game if I were financially able, to show support for my team. Unfortunately, we live in a time of instant gratification and too many of the fans on here are looking for just that.
My advice is simple: support this team and this coaching staff. The rewards and results everyone wants is coming, but it will take more than one recruiting class to make it happen. I hate losing to Florida for ten years in a row as much as anyone, but look at their recruiting classes and they have highly rated players in starting rolls as well as backups. We don't have that luxury yet, but if we stay faithful to this team and staff, it's coming but it will require patience, so, PATIENCE PEOPLE, PATIENCE!
Some of you don't have the stomach for a long rebuilding process so it may be for the best. If you want to direct your anger at someone, I would start with Mike Hamilton for hiring two of the worst coaching hires in the history of CFB then you can appreciate what CBJ has done for the program.
Gramps if you honestly believe we didn't win 3 quarters yesterday and should have won then I'm wasting my time. If you had 100000 + fans living off your every word wouldn't you pull out all the stops to prove it? Or would you stick to what has yet to work in order to prove "we are who we are" ?
I agree 100% with this post gramps...but would you not like a staff that could have adjusted to the blitzes and pressure with anything other than a long slow pass to a wr screen? I promise the middle of the field is your best friend against the blitz ....not the bomb every play but quick slants .HB over the middle. The te etcWe were ahead after 3 quarters. We should have had the game out of reach by the start of 4th quarter. IIRC we had the ball inside Florida's 20 yard line 4 times with 1st down and came away with 6 points. You have to score touchdowns in order to win ballgames. One touchdown out of those 4 trips we win the game. The offense played their worse game of the year. The FL D owned our offense yesterday. We could not run the ball and Worley did not have a lot of time to throw the ball. It is not an excuse. The FL D simply outplayed the TN o yesterday.
lol a damned good thing what you say goes. We will keep living off blind faith in this awesome play calling and wait for 2019To All you jumpers .....bye. This is not the coaching staff nor players fault period. It is a lack of players. We are playing freshmen against Jr/Sr...some are not great but they are giving their all for Tennessee. I wish someone could Butch Slap all you who are leaving before you leave. Please do not come back as I do not want fare weathered fans not does this Team deserve your likes.

true and one thing ray Charles could see is if you don't have the players adjust your schemeA coaching staff is limited to adjustments per the talent on the team. Our O line is young and inexperienced. There is jus so much that can be done with them.
Turn it around and look at it from another angle. The TN Defense controlled Florida for 3 quarters yesterday, causing turnovers and stopping the Gators. The FL offense was terrible until they did make an adjustment and replaced quarterbacks. Unfortunately TN did not have the same luxury as the Gators. We do not have the depth to make necessary changes. There is a reason half of our starters are freshmen.
Both the FL and TN offenses played terrible ball yesterday. They were able to capitalize big on a turnover yesterday, we were not. Neither team can be proud of their offensive play.
Never.
I'm not even done with Butch.
Worley... I'm willing to throw in the towel on him. He went three and out on three throws in the redzone. He threw a pick in the red zone on third down for the sake of throwing it(costing us the 3 points, we lost by 2). He fumbled and allowed Florida to get close enough for their only TD. Essentially, I blame Worley for the loss. It was him... all him really.
