Who does Pruitt play for?

Sounds like you have the answer already but yet you ask?

The answer is simple "It is Because He Can" "Because UT allowed it to Happen"

Fact we may have two coaches in the National Championship Game. It's good PR....
It would be better PR if he left, Alabama got trucked, and the interpretation was that Alabama would have won had he not left.

Fact is, if Alabama wins, all we'll hear is "Roll Tide!".

Because he is an honorable man and truly cares about the players he left behind. His example of not abandoning his players before a big game, should be a big plus to those he is recruiting to Tennessee. Besides, if he happens to get another championship ring, all the better to impress recruits.
I wish he cared for our players as much.

Why is it not also relevant that he has obligations to UT?
So what exactly MUST be done in the next month that can't be handled just as a well in January while allowing him to fulfill previous obligations? There are long term strategic objectives to consider when making this decision such as negative recruiting optics if he were to bail on the kids at Bama, not fulfill his obligations to Coach Saban, etc. Those possible negatives far outweigh what we lose by letting him coach in CFP.

Not really, and I'll bet you would be hard pressed to find anybody that had him at the top of their list. That being said, when/if Gump loses, he will then become our coach and I will be behind him 100%. Until then I hope he get his ass kicked.[/QUOTE

Bama winning another NC hurts us but I want our coach to have a great tenure here. I know I didn't have him in my top 5 but I don't think anyone had a clue as to who Currie was going to target (who would be fired, or who would have accepted, etc ) a certain part of the fan base wanted Gruden which I would have said SURE 100% but then the smart side of my brain told me 2 things. Pipe dream, and what makes him a homer run hire other than name only.

But being a UT fan I can see wanting him/bama to lose say Clemson 3-0, but I won't pull for a blow out because I don't want our new HC to get blown out or embarrassed in the playoffs.

I have never heard of a situation where a major football school hired a new coach, but the new coach remained at the original school, an arch rival school, to help them for another 6 weeks.

Why would the new coach want to do that?
Why would the head coach (Saban) allow it?
Why would the new employer (UT) allow it?
Why are we putting up with it?

Don't make excuses or lame justifications. We need all his time and energy here now. We have lost the fan base, recruits, and our reputation.

Today, is our new coach for us or is he for Alabama?

1. Do you know who Kirby Smart is?

2. It’s not remotely close to 6 weeks. Pruitt is on campus today until the 18th, for the next 10 days, with 100% of his duties and functions serving Tennessee’s program as its head coach. He said this last night.

3. When he does return to help coach Alabama for their playoff game, he will be splitting his time between Clemson game prep with his Bama defense and being our head coach......when Kirby Smart (do you know who he is?) did the EXACT same thing as Bama’s outgoing DC/Georgia’s incoming head coach, Saban provided him with an office and staff to perform his new UGA head coaching duties.....no reason to believe he won’t do the same thing for Pruitt.

4. Back to the math.....at most, if Alabama upsets Clemson on January 1 and plays in the national title game on January 9, Jeremy will coach Alabama’s defense a maximum of 21 days...3 weeks, not 6. If they lose to Clemson, it’ll be 2 weeks (18th through Jan 1). And even then, he’ll SPLIT his time, not totally neglect his new UT Head coaching duties as you’re implying.

5. Perhaps you missed it, but a vast majority of the fan base is not/no longer “lost”.....a vast majority of us are stoked, jazzed, united, fired up that Jeremy Pruitt is our coach. Ditto for a lot of, if not all of our current recruits and even many top level recruits that UT had no chance whatsoever to sign prior to Pruitt being named our new head coach.

Sad thing is they are the same idiot on 2 accounts. You know your sad when you gotta use 2 accounts to try and make it seem like you're not the only one with moronic viewpoint.

I've never met Soddy and I assure you I'm not he/she.

I am going to assume you're both under 30 and have no understanding of anything other than Alabama being the team that gives us our annual beating and that we should just know our role and accept that.

If our recruiting class falls short of expectations I will question his decision to stay on with Bama through the playoffs.

I don't want him embarrassed per se. I want Bama embarrassed. If that means losing a track meet, then so be it. He's not our head coach until he takes that **** off.

Oh and I never wanted Gruden.

Jesus how thick of a head do you have? It is not an issue and would be worse for us had be bailed on kids, terrible look to recruits.

Don't root for him then, no one wants to hear you whining like a little kid all day.

AND...with a few hours sleep every night and figuring in travel time, he's really only working for someone else for a week or so.

Damn. :banghead2::loco: is all I know to say. Have you ever given your word to someone soddy.?

I'll give you really simple math. The UT head coach helping Alabama for 1 minute is 1 more minute than the UT head coach should ever help Alabama.

I am sure someone has already said this, Kirby did it when he was hired at UGA.
