I have never heard of a situation where a major football school hired a new coach, but the new coach remained at the original school, an arch rival school, to help them for another 6 weeks.
Why would the new coach want to do that?
Why would the head coach (Saban) allow it?
Why would the new employer (UT) allow it?
Why are we putting up with it?
Don't make excuses or lame justifications. We need all his time and energy here now. We have lost the fan base, recruits, and our reputation.
Today, is our new coach for us or is he for Alabama?
Yes, because any player who plays for any team other than Tennessee is a total piece of garbage and deserves to have their coach bail on them right before the most important game of the season. Football is just a game and as much as Id love to beat Alabama every year, we are still talking about real people here...CJP made a commitment to these young men and their families and hes chosen not to bail on them before the biggest game (or possibly games) of the year and maybe of their whole lives. I respect him for being there for his players in a time where there is not much loyalty left in big time college football. And thats all Im going to say on the subject.
bingoAnd what of his commitment to Tennessee players? They have to have a worse recruiting class so he can be with the players he really loves?
If you have one child stuck out in the rain, but have already made a commitment to pick up the neighbor boy. You pick up your child in the rain first. At least I would.

It will be during the dead period.
He is quickly assembling a staff that will carry on while he is gone.
He will have access to the interwebs and a smartphone to communicate to staff and players.
he is a multi-tasker.
Let me refer you back to my original comment.
so I win...?Just let it go man. We get that you dont like it....some people agree with you, and some people like myself dont, but it is what it is. You are entitled to your opinion just as much as Im entitled to mine....maybe youre right and Im wrong, but what good does it do to argue about this for 15 or so pages?
Hahaha well read above how your cohorts feel about anyone under 35. Apparently if you didn't see Neyland himself coach then you don't know ut football and aren't real fans.
No, you aren't a real fan if you cheer for Alabama. Which you must be doing, because if Clemson hangs 60 on them that will hurt CJP's image.
Therefore, you must either want Alabama to win, or for CJP to be embarrassed.
So, he can't recruit during the dead period? (calling volarmy)You realize he's staying here and recruiting up until the dead period, right? And then he's going to coach the Alabama team "during the dead period" when he's not allowed to actively recruit. Since there's no practice at Tennessee during that time, what is he hurting by being gone then?
