Who does Pruitt play for?

I have never heard of a situation where a major football school hired a new coach, but the new coach remained at the original school, an arch rival school, to help them for another 6 weeks.

Why would the new coach want to do that?
Why would the head coach (Saban) allow it?
Why would the new employer (UT) allow it?
Why are we putting up with it?

Don't make excuses or lame justifications. We need all his time and energy here now. We have lost the fan base, recruits, and our reputation.

Today, is our new coach for us or is he for Alabama?

It will be during the dead period.

He is quickly assembling a staff that will carry on while he is gone.

He will have access to the interwebs and a smartphone to communicate to staff and players.

he is a multi-tasker.

Yes, because any player who plays for any team other than Tennessee is a total piece of garbage and deserves to have their coach bail on them right before the most important game of the season. Football is just a game and as much as I’d love to beat Alabama every year, we are still talking about real people here...CJP made a commitment to these young men and their families and he’s chosen not to bail on them before the biggest game (or possibly games) of the year and maybe of their whole lives. I respect him for being there for his players in a time where there is not much loyalty left in big time college football. And that’s all I’m going to say on the subject.

And what of his commitment to Tennessee players? They have to have a worse recruiting class so he can be with the players he really loves?

If you have one child stuck out in the rain, but have already made a commitment to pick up the neighbor boy. You pick up your child in the rain first. At least I would.

And all your key pounding will not change a thing either.

You have no clue what it takes for college coaches to game plan do you? When he is not on the practice field he will be watching film, spitballing concepts with his staff, and tons of other things that you have to do to get ready for a game of this magnitude. He will be working 14 hour days to prepare Alabama, that leaves no time for Tennessee recruiting.

I'm 26, and you're a moron. You're playing with your sh!t while I'm playing chess.

Hahaha well read above how your cohorts feel about anyone under 35. Apparently if you didn't see Neyland himself coach then you don't know ut football and aren't real fans.

Oh God not the "if you don't share my asinine view on tennessee football expectations then you're a Bama fan" argument

When I first saw the thread title I instantly thought about Austin Powers.

Holding the guy upside down in the crapper screaming "WHO DOES NUMBER TWO WORKKKKK FORRRRR ?"

Tom Arnold screaming "Damn son, what'd you eat?"

Let me refer you back to my original comment.

Just let it go man. We get that you don’t like it....some people agree with you, and some people like myself don’t, but it is what it is. You are entitled to your opinion just as much as I’m entitled to mine....maybe you’re right and I’m wrong, but what good does it do to argue about this for 20 pages?

so I win...?

No, you aren't a real fan if you cheer for Alabama. Which you must be doing, because if Clemson hangs 60 on them that will hurt CJP's image.

Therefore, you must either want Alabama to win, or for CJP to be embarrassed.

You realize he's staying here and recruiting up until the dead period, right? And then he's going to coach the Alabama team "during the dead period" when he's not allowed to actively recruit. Since there's no practice at Tennessee during that time, what is he hurting by being gone then?

You few idiots are right. I give in. Pruitt is trying to sabotage the program he’s going to be stuck at for at least the next 3-4 years. It all makes sense to me now. Not sure why I didn’t see it before.

Yeah. 60 is a realistic number. Please please give me that spread and let’s make a large bet.

So, he can't recruit during the dead period? (calling volarmy)

Good god. Research what is allowed and not allowed in a dead period then get back to me. Do some research before speaking about things you know nothing about.
