More than the QB, Tim Jordan needs to be #1 RB and continue to develop identity of a team who runs down hill, works off play action, and goes down field every so often, while continuing improvement in D. OL is coming around. All this being said, SC is playing well, and going to be a challenge w/o Maurer.
Tony Bassilo says insiders pointing to JG. Pretty sure Maurer out for awhile. They say Shrout can’t give us a chance. I’d rather lose with Shrout and wildcat or wishbone.
I think they play JG though. Reason Pruitt protected after game. Anybody think different?? This would be a huge win for program to beat the chickens
This isn't hard. Go to the run heavy looks since our line is clicking.
Shouldn't be hard to run a rollout passing game with Shrout. JG brings nothing to the table. The kid is a liability to our team and has been that way all season.
If Shrout is the QB, our best chance of winning out may well be making the team a wishbone offense. We got a dash-back, we got a slither-back, we got a bam-back and a one man dog pack-back. It being we seem to finally have an OL, the wishbone makes sense for us because we got no effective QB right now. Then we receivers that are better than many believe for surprise passes. It would work.
How in the world can we change offensive philosophy mid season to and entirely different play style? I’ve read this several places and it just doesn’t make sense. Does anyone on the entire staff have any knowledge of the veer and wishbone concepts. This isn’t madden where you can just change plays and they work. It’s a fairly complicated blocking scheme and we just now got to where we can zone block....a littleIf Shrout is the QB, our best chance of winning out may well be making the team a wishbone offense. So you take a guy who is easy to defend... and make him even more easy to defend... and that's the solution? You almost have to play JG. with the caveat that he cannot change plays or his scholly is pulled immediately.
Based on what? Similar comments were made based on Maurer's scarce PT before they started him. Shrout according to the coaches was neck and neck with Maurer for the #2 spot early in the year. Pruitt said the deciding factor was BM's running ability.Shrout doesnt give us the best chance to win
If Shrout starts, they are conceding this game. He is not close to being ready, say what you will about JG, but he gives UT the best chance to win. They need to prep a ball control offense and just let him be a game manager. SC is very very beatable.
I hate to agree.Tony Bassilo says insiders pointing to JG. Pretty sure Maurer out for awhile. They say Shrout can’t give us a chance. I’d rather lose with Shrout and wildcat or wishbone.

Being a leader is not the only quality. He was a QB in high School, but a veer/triple option style. He can throw, but is wildly inaccurate. He is much better used in wildcat at QB. Gives us a better chance as a WR.I say put JJ in at qb! The leader of a good fb team most of the time is the qb. This gives us a dual threat which we currently Dont have. He is a leader so put him where most leaders play! Go Big Orange
