Where does the Vol fanbase come from in the world?

So where are you from?

Born in Miami Beach, Fl but moved to Savannah, Ga. at only 18 months and then to North Carolina 6 months later. :eek:lol:

I've lived all over NC but have lived about 25 miles north of Charlotte, NC for the last 15 years in the Lake Norman area.

My father was born and raised in Knoxville and got his degree from UT. I started watching UT sports as a kid and it's now been 40 years. :eek:hmy:

I may be moving to Concord by next season.I'll need some advice on a few things. Like where are the fish biting and where to catch a ppv UT game.

Moved to Knoxville from a farm in Wisconsin in 8th grade. Became an instant Vols fan. Joined the Army in 2001. I have been gone since. Left the Army work as a civilian for the government and just moved to Laurel,MS to help fix some training. Wanted to be away from D.C. and other big contractor areas like that. I miss Knoxville but am glad to be back in the south.

Born and raised in Knoxville. Still live out in the county. I was young enough to root for the vols and not even know it was a college.

I thought you were the dude that carried Oscar the grouch around, when he wanted to be mobile.

Jason, 34.... From Brentwood/Antioch Tennessee.

YAY I have finally found someone else who supports the Hurricanes! The hurricanes were the first US sports team I started to support back in late 2004... Good times..

Bummer, Hurricanes 'Caniacs' clog up our local sports radio here in the RDU Triangle. A Boring sport...1-0 and 0-0 scores, high prices for seats to watch a bunch of skaters zip back and forth. Only good thing is 2 'halftimes' for food. Corporate tickets force me to go on occasion. :bad:

Oh yeah..I am a Memphian who went to UT and moved to Carolina

Seriously, man, way more interesting than the other crap they talk about on the radio here. The game last night was actually really exciting (although didn't end well for Carolina). If they weren't talking about the 'Canes, they'd be talking NFL or UNC/Duke. :pukeb:

Seriously awesome channel.

Start with the '98 Arkansas game. It's hard to get better than that. Although most of the '98 Florida game is there too.

Other great ones that he's got on there:

'01/02 Michigan Capital One Bowl? (not 100% sure this is there)

'02 Arkansas game (6 OTs)

'03 Alabama game (5 OTs)

'03 Miami game (defensive struggle against a top ten team)

'04 Florida game (second half only is there)

'04 Georgia game

'07 Kentucky game

The '05 LSU game also might be there, but I can't remember for sure.

I'd also recommend the 06 Georgia, 05 LSU, 06 Cal, and the 07 Kentucky game.

I said two of those. But yeah, I don't know how I missed '06 Georgia and '06 Cal. The '06 Georgia is possibly my favorite 4th quarter of all time, definitely of the last five years.

Definitely, and I saw that after I posted lol. 06 Cal was awesome.

Lived in Tennessee my whole life, been a Vols fan since day 1.

I love that no matter where I go in the world, it seems like I can count on running into another Vols fan. I was wearing a UT poncho on a rainy day in Yellowstone this summer and had a ton of folks come up to me to talk football.

I was in even in Edinburgh, Scotland last year and saw a guy there wearing a UT shirt. (I had a UT hat on at the time.) Would have gone to talk to him, but I couldn't quite flag him down.

My grandfather was born in London, (lives in Tennesse now, also a Vols fan) and I've been there twice, but haven't run into any Vol fans there. I'd love to go back. If you're an outsider, it's an awesome city to visit. But I can see why you might get a little jaded to it if you live there. It is a little dirty (like any big city) and there are security cameras everywhere. On the plus side, though, British beer is fantastic.

Born and raised in Sullivan Indiana. Really started following Collge Football in 95 and fell in love with the orange and white checkerboard endzones. I have since developed a passion for Volunteer football that I really can't explain. I was not born into it nor did I attend UT, but one thing is for sure...I am a Vol for life! I look forward to my next trip to Knoxville or as I like to call it "God's Country" GBO!

It seems I have a lot of games to watch!

What radio stations are good for vols talk? I currently religiously listen to ESPN 1080 the fan and fox sports 730 but they don't talks vols...

Is that a McDonald's rip off?

First one is. The second one is a Five Guys ripoff. Five Guys is a very popular semi-fast food burger place. I dislike it, but saying that might get me killed. That said, I live in a town with an Only Burger. . .

Born in the great state of Tennessee. Grew up in upstate NY. Lived in GA the last 7 years and just moved to SC.

Born and raised in Georgia, but I would love to live in Knoxville. I would also love to attend UT for graduate school but it's a bit pricey right now. Everyone I know who went there loved it and had a good experience. An undergrad professor I had, and whom I greatly admire, is a die-hard fan and one of the reasons I would like to attend. I was previously a blind follower of the Ga Bulldogs because that is who my dad pulls for and only recently started following the Vols more closely. I have only followed college ball for a couple of years (learning the sport, rules, teams, etc.) so if you think July is late I will see your July and raise you my October. That was the GA/TN game and the day I fell in love with the Vols, the UT campus, and Knoxville. I took my sister (Dawg fan) for her birthday and for my own edification of UT. It really is something to behold. I want to learn as much about the team and their history as possible before I become a true fan (see: certain BAMA "fans") and that is where I am at now. I have since been to the LSU and USCjr. games, and I will be at the Vandy game. Next season will be my first full season as a Big Orange fan and I can hardly wait. I love the tradition, pride, songs, colors, mascot, campus, history--you name it. I make the 3 hour drive, there and back, because there is nothing like Knoxville on gameday. I hope you can see it for yourself one day! It is never too late to become a Vols fan.
