Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

The question is not the big bang. It's the start of life and its cause.

So either God made Adam and Eve (not Adam and Steve, herp derp) or amino acids formed into single celled organisms which then became multi-cellular organism then eventually, after a lot of trial and error, became humans.

Rocks, atoms, gases... the arbitrary object choosen doesn't change the argument.

...or a deity who has been around presumably for an infinite amount of time decided randomly to create something. Sounds plausible.

LG?

That's because you are biased. I am too, just towards science.

Sure, I'm biased but that has nothing to do with the reason I don't scientifically argue creation. To me, God is the beginning but that doesn't fit well into scientific equation.

Big Bang theory hasn't identified the beginning.

Oversimplified but yes V, those are the two options in my opinion. My question is still, how was it done? Did God use electricity? Did lightning strike the right elements at the right time? Did God put a dna chain togeather? Were Adam and Stev....Eve created adults?

Well, it identifies the beginning of our universe. Some think that the big bang is a recurring event that when the universe expands, it begins to fall back in due to gravity, thus everything goes right back into an infinitesimally small point, then explodes again. The only problem with that is that the universe is still expanding, and expanding at an alarming rate (faster than the speed of light). If it doesn't stop expanding, the universe will become so large that everything will freeze and this the universe would die, thus disproving the recurring big bang event.

What is this Supreme Court case you speak of?

And how, exactly, is evolution flawed? I'm not going to Google such a vague term.

Your definition is odd. Atheism, literally, means "the belief in no god," if you break the Latin word down. There's no unified body or belief about nature, cause, or purpose.

Torcaso v. Watkins. "Secular humanism'' is a religion. Plus a federal court of appeals has said it must be treated as such (insofar as prisoner's rights, anyway).

Didn't ask you to... and as I said before, not posting a thousand links. If you don't want to look, then don't.

And as you said, it is a belief. I explained the definition used in Random House. If you don't like it, not my problem. There's really no point in having a discussion with you, anyway.

Moving on.

Edit: Also, see US v. Seeger.
