What was the story with Penix Jr?

Yet still took the L
You need to add context. Did that all without a run game. IU had negative rush yards and yet lit the OSU defense up who was playing pass all day. Not to mention IU O-line isn't the best. Pretty sure most of VOLNATION can handle a loss by a TD to a top 3 team.

How did this kid Peyton Ramsey who we played last year when he was with Indiana end up at northwestern? How have we not picked up a transfer like this that can ball out??

Didn’t he sign or commit to Tennessee? What was his story? He is starting for Indiana now.

Just a casualty of the coaching change...recruiting is mostly about relationships and he had a relationship with the previous staff...either he didn’t impress the new staff or they didn’t impress him...he looks better than the QBs we’ve signed under Pruitt and obviously better than JG.

Does offense effect the defenses ability to stop slants? Tackle? Defend the middle of the field? How about our DBs ability to defend passes? How about our inability to generate a pass rush? Is that all the QBs fault?
Yes to all except that last sentence. The offense with its lack of ability to maintain drives, turnovers, playing from behind all the time, wears the D down every game, nobody can play up to potential when there gassed.
And for the last sentence, it’s not all his fault, but he owns a lot bigger share than any QB should.

Wrong on all accounts.

He would’ve never played even if he was on the roster. Would’ve wasted away behind JG. He is probably so happy he was shooed away.

We’ve pushed out our share of QB recruits to stardom at other schools. It’s becoming the path to success: Commit to UT early. Have a new coach at UT tell you that you aren’t any good, decommit, go elsewhere and light it up.

Nah. You are just an excuse maker that thinks one person is like 90-95% responsible for a team sport.
Go back a re-read , you either misread or have a comprehension problem.
Let me simplify for you. Never said anything about the Quality of the Defense, which is 50% of the team, just that the 2 minutes of rest they get before having to go back in because the Offense 3 and outs and turnovers absolutely does effect their stamina.
And that 1 person at QB has more effect on the offense than anyone, the ball is in his hands every play.

This game by Penix today exactly made Saban's point about defense no longer being the key to a championship. Now there are certain teams and players you can't stop. You just have to outscore them.

It’s ok, JG still gives us the best chance to win according to Pruitt!

Haven't seen him play, but almost 500 yards and 5TDs vs OSU. Seems like we make a habit of running off terrific qb recruits. Hard to stomach the talent we could have had but lost at the most important position on the field. So Tennessee to do the wrong thing.
