I was just sitting here watching the BB game and a thought came to me. What Traditions will our new head coach keep and what will be some of the news ones he will start. Our program is deep in Tradition, I bet some of you think nothing will change but new blood brings new ideas.

I'd like to see him bring back the old pre-Fulmer tradition of beating the hell out of Florida.

I bet the game maxims go.

I was kind of thinking that as well, but I guess we'll see. They are one of those things that has been instilled into all the guys that have come through this system for years, but with new blood coming in, I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall by the wayside. Other than that I can't think of too many traditions that he will be likely to change. I know it seems silly, but hopefully he won't mess with the uniforms too much either.

He will get rid of some, I was just wondering which ones.

And yes hopefully the recent losing one goes.

-Our uniforms are too bland for his wife's tastes. She is already in touch with some of New York's finest designers working to incorporate more *bling*.

-Players will now run through a big "K" to signify the new "family" filling half of the staff positions.

-Paris Hilton and her new BFF have secured a boat to be used in the Vol Navy.

More announcements to come after the Monday Press Conference

Before you all get on me about my source, my dog just told me, and I promised not to let it out, so keep this on the hush-hush, ok?

If he plans on doing away with any UT traditions, he might want to look up Ray Perkins and how he ran Alabama after Bear died. He succeeded in alienating everybody within a few years because he wanted to act like he was more important than Alabama's tradition.

We're looking for a fresh approach in between the white lines. But Tennessee football is bigger than any coach. It will be here long after Lane Kiffin either wins a national championship and returns to the NFL in triumph, or has a .550 winning percentage in four years and gets run out of town on a rail. He'd do well to respect the traditions.

Agreed.

Go Vols.

Getting rid of Bob Kesling would be a good start to a new tradition. Bring back John & Bill. John Ward looked like he could call another season on the Phil show.

QFT. I don't think he will have unfettered discretion to demolish too many traditions. He's a Yankee (or Midwesterner depending on how you classify Minnesota.) He'd better have a hefty respect, otherwise he risks alienating a lot of people. A lot of people jumped ship this year, but I still love the Vols, make as many home games as possible, and refused to boo. Mess with tradition and you might alienate even Pollyannas like me.

The Vol Walk is just like every other "Enter School or Team Name Here" Walk.

That "tradition" is overrated to me.

I'm a young cat, but didn't Doug Dickey (an outsider) establish some traditions that are still alive today? Endzone, T on helmet (I think)?

Any coach at UT will pay hommage to Gen Neyland's maxims. Thats who we are.
Running through the T will obviously continue.
The Tennessee Drill will continue.
VolWalk will continue.
