What I am hearing about reasons for current UT Football dysfunction

I haven't never protested. But, I recognize the fans Administration is inept, and our fan base feels they are on par with Bama, Oklahoma, and ND because the General won some games 80 yrs ago. We're irrelevant now, and have been for over 16 yrs.
We’ve won games well after the General’s time.

He's a mid-level athletic department employee that's whiffed on uniform, inside intel just as often as he's hit.

A close college friend of mine in the AD and never shares anything, but told me when Pruitt was hired he was less than popular right out of the gate and has mentioned dysfunction since Pruitt arrived.

You can choose to believe what you want and tell me I have "hate in my heart", but you don't know sh*t just like anyone else.

Here you go with baseless comments again with the "I got a friend" tales. Neither do you know anything. Just sowing discord.

Nobody hates Tee...Hell We love the guy...He gave us some of the best moments of Tennessee football ever...However saying he is not a good coach is not hating him its just stating the facts...some people are better players than coaches...Can he get better absolutely but right now I am not sold on his coaching ability...He is certainly not qualified to be a head coach at a major university.
I've just sat through a decade or more of incompetence because we keep hiring bargain barrel experiments but I have "hate in my heart" because I said I don't want to sit through another one that was brought up as the premise to start this thread. Clownshow.

Not with the mindset that many of our fans have. We are our worst enemies and a fool out of ourselves. Until we change and change our Administration, well never be good. That's fact.
I’ve been through the worst. It’s a cycle. The fans have no effect other than being an asset. WHEN we get it right again, the fans are an advantage. I’m refusing to buy into another meaningless season under Pruitt, but WHEN that changes, I’ll be ready.

Pruitt doesn't like micromanagement by Fulmer

Pruitt's mirco management if Chaney and the offense big deal.

Seems a little hypocritical and full of crap.

Seems consistent to me. Micromanagers don’t like to be micromanaged for the same reason they micromanage....because they think they know more than others.

What's baseless? You're the clown that said I have "hate" because I noted my opinion on a major topic of this thread. You start the discord and whine about when you get called out. Man up.

I'll be ready to, but Pruitt isn't the answer and another firing would do more harm than good. No one wants to coach here now and it will be worst after next season.

All 3 of those programs were irrelevant at one point...go ahead and throw Clemson on that pile. Fans were ready when it got better.

1, 4, 5 and 9 are laughably false.

I haven't heard anything like 6, but Tee knows if Pruitt gets fired, he's not sniffing the HC job.

The name is spelled Niedermeyer.
You don’t think the team is divided? When the kicker opts out, citing locker room issues, that ain’t good.

The opt outs and transfers are adding up. Not all the players want to be here.

That doesn’t make sense. He’s not the “answer” but keep him because firing is bad? Sounds like an intentional, contrived conundrum designed to retain the unacceptable status quo.

Talking to local reporters, some ex-players and others, below is what I have been able to gather about current state of football program. Now this all comes from informal chats and people claiming they know this stuff so take is for what it is worth.

  1. Fulmer still likes to act like he is the head coach. He meddles into everything from basic practice to game planning, personnel etc. Pruitt is sick of being micro-managed.
  2. There are three factions in coaching staff:
    1. Tee and Jay are Fulmer's boys and they act very much like it too. Tee in particular acts like he is above head coach and has been cause of a lot of friction with in staff.
    2. Pruitt, Friend, Nerdimeyer, Weinke are in another camp. Tee and Jay particularly dislike Nerdimeyer
    3. Derek Ansely, Chaney and Shelton Felton generally stay away from these groups.
  3. Ansley has a weak personality and deflects any pressure to Pruitt. Lacks leadership.
  4. Pruitt micro-manages the offense through Chaney while Tee tries to run his own stuff. Chaney is very disengaged and even does not run a lot of meetings. He was not like this in his previous stunt here. He just stopped caring.
  5. Shelton Felton, Osovet, Brambaugh etc are/were good coaches who are just caught in amazing dysfunction. Brambaugh got fired because he was tired of Pruitt dissing DL all the time and he got into heated argument with Pruitt a lot.
  6. Tee tells people around him that he will be HC here someday and he will run this place like Belichik runs Patriots.
  7. Pruitt will be forced to let go of his guys (Friend gone, Nerdeimeyer and Weinke next). Tee will likely be Co-OC for 2021. Pruitt is fed up with Fulmer and would be happy to take his buyout and leave.
  8. Fulmer has a lot of boosters support and Pruitt still feels like outsider.
  9. Team is completely divided.
The amount of dysfunction and politics at UTAD is disgusting. Fulmer is root of it. Pruitt does not have the personality to be a HC who can handle all this and Tee is an opportunist who is waiting his turn fueling the infighting.
a lot of this contradicts itself

You said you'd stop following the program if Tee became HC. You making your argument based of of some hearsay stating a friend told you. You don't know anything going on inside the team. I said you have hate in your heart for Tee because you're making this out to be his fault. Like he's the one causing all the trouble and you know nothing of the sort.

It kills me that people on here sees what hiring these dollar tree coaches has done to Tenn and then they yell for Tee to be the HC and he has done nothing to deserve an interview for the job. If Tee had came from any other school , not 1 person would be yelling for him to be a HC.

I agree with your post 100%. Tee was given an interview the yr Pruitt was hired. It may have been a phone (courtesy) interview from Fulmer to a former player to get him on staff.

I agree he is not head coach material.

Exactly. People forget how bad Oklahoma was between the Switzer and Stoops eras. Notre Dame had to hire high school coach and Bama went through four coaches in the ten years prior to Saban.

Boy you made a massive reach. The overemotional bullcrap you just spewed shows I was right to tell you to man up.

I didn't say keep him. I want him gone, but I know we're not competent enough to make a good hire and we'll be right back where we are now and deeper in debt.

You got emotional when you said you won't folkow the program if Tee got hired as HC. Now, get your wooby and take a nap. Want some warm milk too?

Not even close to HC material.

Why cause can post an opinion of our current state like you? Or because my view is different than yours? If your content with our state of affairs maybe you should delete yours.

No, you just obviously have disdain for the fanbase. No one is happy with the state of affairs, which makes it all the more curious as to why you want to denigrate our own fans if you agree with them

Not even a page ahead I posted exactly my opinion on this matter, but I guess you can't read.

Just idiots that think we a top program right now. Those who cling on to the thought that we are the only school that went a season unscored upon. Things like that.
