What have you learned today?

I lurned that no matter how good yur team is...………….the Coach can BLOW it. Fake punt cost them the game A fake punt that appeared they hadn't practice. Awful. They shud not get in the final four....they will go to the Peach Bowl

UT fans don’t want to admit how well things are going for UGA. They signed the best class last year and will be in top 3 or 4 again. Going to suck even worse when they steal a few from us this cycle.
Our only consolation is them losing to the Bama dynasty.

I've learned some UT fans seem smitten with UGA. I'm not. I'll never admit anything about them. A couple of excellent classes and solid coaching will beat them.

But please, kiss their rears if it makes you happy.

The second they saw Bama in punt safe the call should have been off.
That's what was beyond me. You see Bama lined up to defend your fake and still do it. That said, I bet if UGA punted that Bama goes downfield and at least kicks the FG to win anyway.

Didn’t learn this today, but confirmed: 1. Alabama has 2 quarterbacks who could start for anyone. 2. Having a QB who can run and throw increases your chances of winning.
And yet none can run fast at TN in last 20 years other than Dobbs.

Probably because UGA wasn’t at all prepared for Hurts and he was fresh which certainly matters with a running QB. But given how little Hurts has played this year, the fact it was 4th and 11, and that Bama’s FG kicking is almost always suspect I would generally lean towards making Bama drive the field. With that said, I love it when coaches have big brass ones like Sean Payton doing the onside to start the second half of a Super Bowl. I agree with Kirby (and Pruitt) on what appears to be their philosophy. It’s more about the look you get than the time and score. If you get the right look then fake the punt (or try the onside) regardless of time and score.

I agree with you and UGA didn’t have the right look.

I learned that people don’t understand basic analytics or reasoning behind certain playcalls.

Amazing that we have so many arm chair coaches on this board.

Edit: there, are you happy people.

God complex.
