What happened to Dooley?

Probably doing what Chizik is. Building a program by keeping his mouth shut and working on a game plan, instead of trying to make a name for himself. Tennessee football will always sell itself. You really think Fulmer was that good of a recruiter. It's time for somebody to coach up the players.

I think he clearly doesn't care about the program or succeeding here...

If I had to guess I'd say he's sitting back, basking in the glory of his new job and telling all of his coaching staff/players/administrators not to worry...he'll start working hard when the time is right...and not one second sooner

He's just sitting around waiting fo the Georgia job to open up.

I do think however, there is a difference in being quiet and slacking. Just because he is being quiet doesnt mean he is working hard 24/7 and vice versa. Kiffin worked 24/7 and wasnt quiet.

He COULD be slacking and being quiet, now I do not think thats true. But it IS a possibility. We are all left to assume he is working as hard as he can right now. Whether that is true or not will be seen shortly.

Let me know if that made any sense whatsoever.

Dooley will NOT be out in front and making public comments and interviews. I like that!!!!

Show it on the field...not in pressors!

Just like his dad, and Saben, !!!!!!!!

saban kept him around for years, one of the biggest workaholics in the profession. He's not slacking. There is a lot of sarcasm flying around here due to the funny nature of the initial post.

he IS working! with signing day in the bag, he and the newly assembled staff are probably meeting around the clock to gel and develop our team's identity.

many of the staff are getting to know one another and getting a feel for what dooley wants/expects and what needs to be done to move this team in the right direction.

i agree that dooley is not going to go out and make outlandish comments just to make headlines. its just not his syle. but im certain he is maintaining relationships with recruits as the staff puts its plan together.

i do miss being able to read something new about ut in the headlines each day, but by the same token, i like the idea that this quality staff is tucked away crafting our plan to unleash hell on the sec!

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have it from a very good inside source, that they are working 24/7 to redesign the uniforms. The basis of the design is the NCAA 2010 game uniform design feature and a certain VN poster that has put in so much time and effort to bring us to this moment.

I want Coach Dooley to succeed, but he needs to come out of hiding an address the fans. He needs to remember that we ultimately pay his salary. I would imagine UT would like to sell a few football tickets for 2010, but Coach Dooley is not creating any fan excitement at all. Maybe he is telling us we are going to su ck this year and there is no reason for fans to show up. While agree it will probably be a down year, at least talk to the fans. FYI - VASF donations are due March 1st for football and I have heard one Interview from Coach Pelini at Nebraska and 0 from coach Dooley. Come on CDD talk to us, we just might get behind you.:cray::clapping:

I dont either, but the headline just casts dobut on how hard he is working.

I believe this to be a rumor, nothing more, and that Dooley will do a fine job in the coming years.

The "rumor" is about the cry baby TE from NC "de-commiting" from UT because he hasn't been burped by Coach D. Rambles on about Johnson decommiting, and how the staff hasn't landed any 2011 commitments.
The sky has really fallen. We are doomed! Typical ESPN garbage. Not a rumor, but just their opinion.

Nope, no sense, your response is like being a little pregnant. He is either doing his job or he isn't.

What about Coach Dooley leads you to think that he is not doing his job.......silence ???? Give me a break, please.

If you can't get excited about ut football without the coach blathering in the media when there isn't anything to discuss, then your not a fan.

If your not donating to tenn because the coach is not talking to you and thus, your not excited, your not a fan.

If you don't get behind the coach because he is out doing his job and not wasting time talking to the "fans", your not a fan.

He has said he will be talking after/ during spring practices, you know, when he will have something meaningful to discuss.

Get on board or don't, your choice, but don't criticize him for not wasting his time ( that we are paying for) by pandering to self important, insecure fans.

He's just sitting around waiting fo the Georgia job to open up.

I know...I can't believe people are either ignoring that or are just in plain denial about it...

I mean here he is doing nothing...which we clearly know because he's not speaking to the media...and we're not supposed to assume the worst? Gimme a break...

I for one think we should all boycott until Hamilton admits his mistake and gets rid of Dooley...

I mean...it's only a matter of time before he "Kiffin's" us and leaves for his dream job anyway

Reading between the lines of his recruiting comments... he doesn't want you behind "him". He wants you behind the University of Tennessee Volunteers.

Tell you what... for all the top 10 recruiting talk and mouth running... I wasn't all that excited about 7-6. How about you? For all of Fulmer's coach speak, that 29-21 record over his last 4 years didn't do it for me either. Dog and pony shows don't raise my heart rate. Wins do.

I'm willing to say a win over Florida or Oregon would raise more excitement around here than kiffin was able to talking every day.

if we're sitting at 3-2 after our trip to Baton Rouge, I'll be estatic.
