yeah annnd why dont you take a look at their recruiting class they where going to bring in here.
You have no idea how that class would have finished up and neither does anyone else. The only player that we can be relatively sure about is Ambles... but UT wouldn't have gotten Rogers or Stone and might not have gotten Hunter. They probably would have finished a few places higher than UT ended up. But for all the noise, UT was STILL getting shunned by the FL players that were recruited by one of the big 3.
....thhhhen take a look at their recuiting class they put together in 2 weeks at USC...
You aren't really, seriously trying to give Kiffin more credit for that than Dooley gets (taking over a much worse situation and with half a staff) at UT are you?
The USC class was already great. Fourteen of their commits were from CA and very unlikely to de-commit. Of the remaining 6, two were committed prior to Kiffin's arrival and weren't going anywhere so long as USC got a good coach... and that was going to happen regardless.
Kiffin got commits from Ambles, Stanley, Robey, and Henderson. Henderson still hasn't signed and some believe he won't because the NCAA answers won't come in time.
Again, if CLK had brought those kids plus Chaz Green to UT... minus Henderson who wasn't coming to UT period... and had lost Rogers and Stone... you really don't have anything better than what UT ended up with by large degrees.
he was getting it done. he knows what black 17 and 18 year old kids want to hear and what kind of coach they want to play for. college football has changed.
If that were true to the degree you suggest then every successful recruiter would use his style... and none do.
we need to make headlines in this era of youtube and twitter. we need to have kids knowing we are here and still alive.
You don't have to use youtube, twitter, or any other public media to do that.
the worst thing that we could do is hide away in his office and not speek to people and NOT CALL recruits.
Do you have his office bugged? You have no idea who he's called or hasn't called. The fact they didn't give "love" to McLain suggests one of two things. Either these coaches are just flat out lazy and plan on ending their short careers at UT in two years OR they are very busy calling talented players that were not committed. Judging from the histories of every one of these coaches.... which do you really believe to be the case?
this last staff set a foundation on recruiting that he could continue (not being a loudmouth but contacting recruits and establishing relationships with alot of kids.)
... and you K-N-O-W they're not doing that, right?
if he was proven then he could stay back from the limelight .
And... if he thought running your mouth proves anything, maybe he'd be out there talking about Meyer's heart condition or something. Maybe he doesn't feel compelled for everyone including the competition to know what he and his staff are doing. Maybe he believes his talent to convince people one on one (that comes with being a lawyer) are strong enough that he doesn't need to play the fool.
this staff only hase one accomplished recruiter and thats Lance thompson. our dline coach has never even coached college football before and we have no clue how he is going to recruit.
Did you even take time to read the coaches' bios before writing this?
all im saying is that to blindly make excuses for someone when they are not family and have no connection to tennessee other than chuck smith is not wise.
And all I'm saying is to blindly toss around accusations without having one clue about what they are or are not doing is just as reckless. Simply because they aren't announcing their plans and actions to the world does not mean they aren't getting anything done.
we play in the best conference
Therefore before you go out and offer scholarships and spend time recruiting a kid... you do some research, right? Maybe you watch a little film and discuss a kid's potential, right? Because if you don't, you end up with a bunch of Kenny O'Neals.... Right?
with that said i hope he does good, i hope he turns this ship around...but so far what we have seen he isint understanding the SEC conference and how it works...not to mention he hired a bunch of people who dont know didley about the conference eaither. soooo jeer me if you want but deep down you know alot of people are thinking the same thing....
Yep. You nailed it... Vince Dooley's son who coached a NC at LSU with Saban can't possibly know more about how to get things done in the SEC than you.
