Seems as if he has gone in hiding. It would make sense to me for him to be visible for recruits! I want him to be as successful anyone on this board does, but it is just like he dropped off the face of the earth!

He is very much like Saban in the way he operates. He is not going to let anyone in on what he is doing. Let us hope he is as good at x's and o's as Saban.

Every coach takes a little time off after recruiting is finalized. Cut him some slack. Just because he isn't on TV everyday running his mouth doesn't mean he isn't visible to the recruits.

If you are looking for an attention whore, you may try looking into USC's program. Dooley is another animal entirely.

What would you like Dooley to say? That everything is going to be ok and not to worry? It's getting close to Spring practice so I am sure he isn't just relaxing at home. Keep in mind these commitments do not mean a whole lot now. Sure, it's good to have them, but there is still about a year before they sign anyway.

For those who saw Benedict Douche's interview on Sportcenter, is he getting fat? Looked like he stung by a bee in the face.

I think he clearly doesn't care about the program or succeeding here...

If I had to guess I'd say he's sitting back, basking in the glory of his new job and telling all of his coaching staff/players/administrators not to worry...he'll start working hard when the time is right...and not one second sooner

The guy doesn't seek the spotlight, he'd much rather be planning for the coming season, developing the players he has and talking with recruits in private. I have heard more than one person covering the Vols remark at how hard it is for them to know exactly what is going on in every situation. The poster above is correct that he models his style in some sense after Saban.

He did every major national media apearance available (espn multiple times) during recruiting. The national
media isn't covering recruiting now, it's just not a big strory, but if they did, I'm sure he would talk. Local media does absolutely zero for your recruiting.

Where is he? Probably evaling tape, putting together a recruiting board, planning spring practice, meeting players..... You know, his job.

I expect no less. I also expect that he not waste his damn time with pointless interviews about nothing. Can't talk about recruiting, no practices, games to discuss. What's he going to talk about, how he likes the color orange? Please.

He is not a showboat - you got your fill with that in the last coach.

Everything will be closely guarded in this program now.

Media will have limited access and all coaches are off limits except Dooley.

Which means he controls what is said and what isn't.

I like it this way, but it is hard as a fan as you really have no idea what is going on except what you see on the field.

Hopefully some around here will still get some scoops every now and then.

At this point, If he is as good of a recruiter as saban I will take it.

He is doing what you should - working. Football games are not won running your trap on television.

Top ten recruiting class. I here you loud and clear cdd.

I am a real fan. I want him to be doing his job, building the program, not wasting ANY time on ANYTHING that doesn't add to the program. If he's not working on the program, then go home and see your family.

And before anyone says it, NO, local media does nothing for your recruiting.

I think it is out there that he will not be very open to the media on a regular basis.

The days of knowing every single move like with the last regime are over.

Kiffin did what he thought was necessary within his style. Dooley is doing what he thinks is necessary within his style. Kiffin in his first year as HC with 2 full months to fill a staff and finish off recruiting took a class that was around 10th already and finished 10th. Dooley in his first year with much less time and support took a class that had fallen out of the top 10 and finished 9th.

The methods obviously differ but the results are comparable or lean in Dooley's favor to this point of their tenure.
