Week 1 QB ratings(SEC)

You realize Bennet came in halfway through the second quarter and went 20/29 for 211 and 2 td’s, right? That’s not heisman level, but easily better than Franks and Wilson. Hell, he covers the spread for UGA if he doesn’t sit the fourth to give Mathis more snaps.

U are right on Bennett and also he ran the ball well and the dive to the pylon was epic. UGA may have stumbled in to their Kyle Trask like UF did when he replaced Franks.

Idk. It’s way too early to make any predictions about anyone. The 2pt conversion was a gritty play and it’s a nice story for a kid to walk on, go juco, then return and win a game. lol I’m sure Leach could make him respectable, but not sure if Kirby or Monken can. Guess we’ll find out next week.

Potential points-yes
Potential, agreed. Some were saying we should’ve had 3-4 more TDs in the first half alone. That’s pretty unrealistic. But no doubt our first half offense absolutely sucked and JG missing throws was a big part of that. I think we see things fairly similarly and are mostly arguing semantics.

In case anyone wants the actual QBR, I got this from some website

Corral, Ole Miss 203.48
Trask, Florida 201.77
Jones, (censored) 189.65
Nix, Auburn 168.42
Costello, MSU 168.05
Bennett, Georgia 152.84
Robinson, Missouri 156.36
Guarantano, Tennessee 142.12
Brennan, LSU 134.52
Hill, USC 129.90
Mond, TAMU 129.20
Wilson, Kentucky 122.63
Seals, Vandy 110.00
Franks, Arkansas 97.80

looks like espn has different numbers, so here's where I got mine.
Probably should give them a link if I'm using their content, right?
2020 Player Statistics
Oh ... espn actually has the same numbers if I click on stats, but something completely different in the game summary box score. Weird.

Too many here are part of an anti-JG cult, with little connection to reality where he is concerned. Tell them JG completed 61% of his passes, that he had no INTs, no fumbles, and had 281 of UT’s 394 total yards, and all they do is mumble, “If we had a decent QB, blah, blah, blah.”

He missed more than a few throws. Of his 12 incompletions, I can immediately think of only 2 that should have been caught. That means nearly ⅓ of his 31 attempts were errant passes. And many were generally way off target in situations where the WR was very much open. It wasn't like he was forced to fit it into a tight window all night.

I do mostly agree with the decision-making aspect, though. He made the correct decision most times. It wasn't PERFECT as you say, however. He held the ball too long on one of the two sacks he took when the opportunity to run or throw it away was there. He also fired that panicked rifle shot to no one across the middle on 3rd down in the red zone when he appeared to have Eric Gray open in the flat.
Agree with some of this.... I looked like the receiver stop the route on that rifle shot at the goal line .. if he keeps running he runs right into it

1 drop, 2 bad routes (all three of those by the same guy by the way), and 1 throw away is what I had down. Normalizes his completion percentage at about 75%. I’ll take that, no int’s and the win all day long.

I sincerely believe that 50 points should have been scored with Henry T’s return.

If you know it's going to be JG that Pruitt continues to roll out then it's time for the neverJG bunch to start calling for Coach Pruitt's job or accept that JG is who we have. Hard to call for Pruitt's job I suspect after winning 7 and most likely 8 straight next week.

Just because a first down was missed doesn’t mean that we should’ve had points.
How about 1st sideline miss...was a TD if thrown right.....
Pass b to keyton to thr wrong shoulder and short. 6 if thrown right

Worm burner in-between 2 WR and defenders...6 if hits WR in stride...

Those 3 good??

Wrong shoulder? It was a post corner that he tried to keep inside leverage on. That was a freshman receiver looking over the wrong shoulder. JG’s pass was right where it needed to be. Sorry.

First sideline pass wouldn’t have been a score, big gainer likely not a score. Again, to the true freshman who looked over the wrong shoulder and dropped a first down later. Argument could be made that if he runs through it too instead of jumping it’s catchable. But no matter.

Worm burner I’ll concede.

He didn’t throw over the wrong shoulder on that deep route though. Good even great qb’s can’t make a freshman play right. Those two will connect eventually and it’ll be wonderful. Just enjoy the wins til it all clicks.

Everyone saw if was the wrong shoulder..and short even the annoucers pointed it out....and ball thrown like that is the hardest ball to catch....the sideline catch had potential for 6 because he was alone....
Great QB make easy throws....you realize that with out those gloified handoffs to velus...JG drops to 58% and if Johnson doeant sell out it drops lower...JG made less then 10 accurate throws and that includes the handoff

Yep. When we win a road game and cover the vegas Line and there is a thread entitled “put this game behind us” people need to understand that expectations are a little off around here
It’s because it was an ugly game. I agreed with that thread, first game of season with limited practice and missing some players, important thing is we won.

So because the announcer failed to realize the receiver screwed up I should change what I know to be true? The announcer also said Chandler scored when it was Gray. I’ll keep knowing what I know. There was also a defender in front of Keyton on that sideline throw. Go watch it again.

That was not an overthrow. The defender had his other arm pinned and he had to use one hand. That was a very, very well thrown ball. Try again.
No it really wasn’t. He couldn’t have reached it with his right hand even if it was free. By no means was it a bad throw, but it wasn’t perfect.

1) trask- Florid
2) Costello-MSU
3) Nix- Auburn
4) JG- Vols
5) Jones- Bama
6) corral- ole miss
7) hill-usce
8)mizzu-
9) Mond- A&M
10) brennan- LSU
11) wilson-Kentucky
12) Georgia
13) Arkansas
14) vandy

Let’s see where you guys ranked the QBs
JMO, but Mac Jones should be ranked well above JG. The kid didn't even play the whole game and has #1 QBR. Had 249 yds and 2 TD's and was pulled near the end of the 3rd.

I didn’t say perfect. If JG being perfect is the measure not sure we’ll ever find common ground.

Lol, nope. The deep throw was thrown where it was supposed to be, pass down sideline was a bad miss but no way it scores as S over the top was there had it been accurate. Go find us a few more, you said he made 22 bad throws, so far you've only found 2 really. I counted 5 or 6 but you say it was 20 pass plays he really did nothing.

On the sideline yes if pass is in stride its a quick cut and hes off to the races.....

Just like you will trust CJP to keep running JG out there..ill trust the commentators who watched it from different angles....we can agree to disagree its..ok...

LOL, not every pass is a TD. This isn’t Tecmo Bowl. Plus, no QB hits every pass. The kid certainly missed some but he still hit over 60% and threw some that were very nice. No one is saying he played great and I’ve said multiple times he had a lot of overthrows and isn’t an accurate QB. Stop trying to make more out of this than it really is though.

So you’re assuming missed tackles in your brilliant analysis. Tell us more Nostradamus.

Bama is playing a game manager at QB, Auburn is playing a game manager, Florida is playing a game manager at QB, Tn is playing a game manager and who knows what Ga is going to play. That's 4 of the top 5 teams in the league that has a game manager playing QB, Monde at A&M qualifies more as a game manager, so at least 5 of 6 of the top teams in the SEC are playing game managers at QB.

We could switch quarterbacks with Florida tomorrow and average 24 more points per game. The only difference in the two teams last year was quarterback play imho.
