We got the right coach

I dont think some realized just how much of a disaster our roster was when Pruitt took over, it was and still is atrocious we have no depth on defense. I'm not saying he's the right guy or should get a pass or anything but it's pretty bad right now. With that being said we definitely shouldn't be 1-4 either

Yes most of us do; that still doesn't mean he hasn't underachieved with what he has. And he didn't inherit anything worse than Dooley or Jones did. Plus you can't keep declaring every new coach inherits "the biggest mess ever", that really starts losing its meaning.

Then lets fire him after year 2, have mass attrition, and then expect then next guy to do better in year 2 when he has 50 guys on his roster and whatever walk-ons he can get here.
Fine by me. I've been saying all along, if the school is ok with what we have now, which is losing btw, they can just throw me 100k a year and I'll give you the same results. At least then the school saves 4 million a year.

Oh good grief, enough of “the roster ia a disaster”.

How many losses of 25+ with some to equal or less rosters and loses in general to lesser talent does it take?

Yeah, I'd hold off until Pruitt actually puts together 4 quarters of football in the same game, against an opponent with a pulse. This was never a game we were going to win, but the second half was a mess all around.
This game was the same song, different verse.

This class is about to crater so what do we have to lose?

I saw Improvement tonight, we just didn't have enough mules. Pruitt is going to build us a team. I like what I saw and the potential for down the road.

With a 1-4 record, possibly the worst loss in program history, lack of real-time or within game coaching adjustments, dysfunctional product on the field (D still can't line up), continued public relations/communication debacles, and the FAN-BASE BEING THIS DIVIDED, how can anyone definitely say we got the right coach?

I said we shouldn't be 1-4, dude I've been in that locker room I know what he's dealing with, I'm not saying it's worse then dooley or butch but it's bad, and no I know for a fact most including you dont know just how bad it is

I am sure it is fine because you're not a TN fan. Might as well buckle-up, Pruitt will be here for a minute. Hopefully the worst case scenario is he recruits legit sec talent and has them properly strength and conditioned for the next coach. That would be an improvement over the last 2 regimes.

One of “his” guys just got dismissed so what is he doing about this “disaster” of a roster?

As it stands, all 80 players putting on their uniform and making it out of the tunnel is an improvement.
They don’t look like they know where they are going half the time.

UT should never be at the point that not *****ing the bed is an improvement.

Pruitt still has something to prove but were playing a lot of good looking young guys cause we dont have many upperclassmen hes evaluated really good young guys should be for depth not starters

The way he’s going he won’t be her more than 1 more season and hopefully he takes Fulmer with him.

Until we ran out of gas we held due to depth they held a high powered offense to 3pts. One that scored 26 in the first half. Gave offense chances to make it a game. We're starting a fresh QB with no run game against a top 5 defense.

But continue with your crying
You people will really go to any lengths to distort the truth and defend your hero/employer. When was this mystical time that we held them to 3 points? Two possessions for a fraction of one quarter? I suppose you're saying the fact they didn't hang 80 on us is cause for celebration?

In case you missed it, we lost by 29 points. They don't give out trophies for going a five-minute stretch in a game without giving up points.

Is that you Mike Hamilton.

Why would it crater? Think these footballs players are a bunch of betas like you? Maybe they watched the game and saw that TN still have a chance well into the 3rd qtr and think "I could be the difference there".

We aren't competing with uga, florida, bama, or lsu. We are recruiting against and beating uk, vandy, mizzou, scar, miss st. That's reality and you all need to accept it. Out recruit them, beat them on the field, grab a high caliber guy or 2 when you can, but when you establish the base of solid sec talent and rise above the cellar, then you can focus on bama, uga, lsu, etc. Thinking we will go from losing to Vandy to beating and out recruiting/talenting UGA in 2-3yrs is nothing but pure ignorance and delusion.

How many points did you think a freshman making his first start was going to score against the number 3 team?

These type of definitive statements without much evidence is just as bad as people who want him fired.

I don't ****ing care how "bad" it is, that's what he's getting paid a lot of money to deal with. If he can't deal with it, then get someone who can. If it's not worse than the last 2 guys, then why even bring it up? It sounds like you're trying to use it as an excuse all while claiming you're not using it as an excuse.
