We got the right coach

There were some very positive signs in the first half. The team had the kind of fire I want for the first time all season. My biggest concern is what next years recruiting class will look like after this season. Based on this year, Pruitt isn't going to do more with less. Hopefully he can use the effort tonight as a jumping off point to get some wins down the stretch. Tonight put me back in wait and see mode, if nothing else.

I always thought you should judge a coach by half time adjustments. Joe Paterno always had his team play better in the second half. Tonight it is obvious that Kirby Smart made adjustments since we scored 0 points in the second half. When has our team played better in the second half?

Yeah, I'd hold off until Pruitt actually puts together 4 quarters of football in the same game, against an opponent with a pulse. This was never a game we were going to win, but the second half was a mess all around.

Until we ran out of gas we held due to depth they held a high powered offense to 3pts. One that scored 26 in the first half. Gave offense chances to make it a game. We're starting a fresh QB with no run game against a top 5 defense.

But continue with your crying

constantly getting outcoached.

maurer is clearly the best QB on the roster and we're 1-4 mostly bc of QB play.

Pruitt is pretty questionable, if im being honest.
There's no doubt that he should've started Maurer at the beginning of the season.

Maybe waiting till now to throw him out to the wolves (Bulldogs in this case) wasn't exactly the best idea.

I saw Improvement tonight, we just didn't have enough mules. Pruitt is going to build us a team. I like what I saw and the potential for down the road.
He’s going to get the chance. Anyone who knows Fulmer knows better than saying differently.

Third quarter held them to three points. Three.

Mismanagement of the offense by Chaney had us down by twelve at half. Should’ve been 20-17.

OP, I hope you are right. So far I don't see much that gives me confidence. It seems that you make the most of the talent you have. But so far CJP has overlooked 2 non-conference opponents and followed that up by not showing up in the Swamp...where he spoke often of the temperature there, as if he planned for his team to be a factor in that game. If he looses the2020 recruiting class, he probably won't have a long tenure at UT.

Defense is just as culpable.

It is amazing that a 29 point loss at home, with a 2nd half implosion could make someone think "yeah man, we got ourselves the right coach."

I didn't expect a win, but come on...
Reminds me of the Dooley years. Those teams played well for a half of football too. Funny thing, depth was the excuse then too..This loss was expected, but it looks awful familiar..

Georgia made adjustments at the half. We didn’t adjust. They added another delayed blitzer and we never figured it out. I hope it’s a personnel issue and not a coach issue.

If you remember, people were pumping sunshine after the Georgia game last year too; because we didn't get beat as bad as people thought.

TBF, we did go and beat Auburn and Kentucky after that, but we also laid eggs against Mizzou and Vandy that pretty much cancelled them out. So to anyone pumping after this game, I'd wait to see how we do next week against a much more winnable opponent.

Because caue of course disagreeing with you is "crying". We sustained about a quarter and a half of play before sputtering out, made zero halftime adjustments, and still defensive basics like 'tackling' and not leaving the middle of the field wide open elude both staff and players.

But by all means, let's extend Pruitt and the entire staff now just in case these things fix themselves.
