We got the right coach

I saw Improvement tonight, we just didn't have enough mules. Pruitt is going to build us a team. I like what I saw and the potential for down the road.
That's like when a company loses 40% of their market value in the year, and then gets 5% back in the last quarter, and people say they improved.

We haven't improved. We are maybe... Maybe as good as we were this time last year. That's not improved.

well...i was giving pruitt a pass with this roster cuz we aint got players.

but yea....im not really seeing much scheming. seems to me a "defensive genius" would be able to figure out something...anything.

i aint seeing it at all.

The Gump ain’t no genius aright.

We had the lead in the second quarter and still had a drive in the second quarter that ended with a missed FG. More than I even thought we would do. More than we did last time Georgia came to Neyland.

Well dang, let us hang our hats on what Tennessee could do in the first quarter.

I did say I like seeing that. I liked their emotion, but dang can you help a young freshman QB up by running the ball?.......you sure could but these coaches didn’t.

Tennessee had pass to run ratio of 3 to 1 at halftime.........and the young QB had already started to struggle.......help him out with a few runs.

Lining up wrong, blown assignments, missed tackles will kill a struggling team who is playing good for a quarter..........that is all mental and coaching.

I’m tired of hearing “we need better players and more players” well duh......but dang get the ones Tennessee got playing like they should.

Most good coaches have disciplined teams......this team is far from disciplined.

Because caue of course disagreeing with you is "crying". We sustained about a quarter and a half of play before sputtering out, made zero halftime adjustments, and still defensive basics like 'tackling' and not leaving the middle of the field wide open elude both staff and players.

But by all means, let's extend Pruitt and the entire staff now just in case these things fix themselves.

Zero halftime adjustments?

Georgia's first three possessions of the third quarter were (1) punt (2) FG (3) turned it over on downs.

I don't know WTF you're talking about with the "zero halftime adjustments" business, and you don't either.

Fundamentals left much to be desired, for sure.

I always thought you should judge a coach by half time adjustments. Joe Paterno always had his team play better in the second half. Tonight it is obvious that Kirby Smart made adjustments since we scored 0 points in the second half. When has our team played better in the second half?

Until garbage points our defense held them to 3pts after 26 in the first half. UGA went 3 and out on the first drive of the 2nd half. Defense gave ball back to offense with decent field position and a chance to make it a 1 score game.

One of the top defenses in country vs a true frosh QB with no run game..

The right coach has his team ready and prepared to beat Ga. St.
There it is....

GA State!

Come on dude you can do better than repeatedly regurgitating that tired ass line. I have no problem with Pruitt being criticized but do something different. Come up with an original thought for a change.

Felt GOOD to go toe to toe with #3 for a quarter and a half!

Maurer not starting till the fifth game when he is CLEARLY the better option tho....????

People still defend him after the worst start to a season in my lifetime (nearly 3 decades). People have got so used to losing seasons now that they are "holding out" for some mythical top 10 recruiting class that will maybe make us a bowl eligible team. If you are fine with what he is producing than I hope you weren't calling for Dooley or Butch to be fired.

Lol your last paragraph demonstrates how unreasonable you are.

We showed no adjustments? UGA scored 26pts in the first half. They scored 3 until into the 4th qtr then got some garbage scores. That would be adjustments.

They have the no.1 QB prospect in the country, prolly the no.1 rb prospect, and a loaded offense. But our young and thin D gave the offense a chance to make it a game multiple times. TN had chances but couldn't get it done, did you expect us to win?

Got beat, gave up points. Everyone says "I know we're in a rebuild" but when the no.3 team loaded with talent everywhere beats us you become unhinged.

I dont think some realized just how much of a disaster our roster was when Pruitt took over, it was and still is atrocious we have no depth on defense. I'm not saying he's the right guy or should get a pass or anything but it's pretty bad right now. With that being said we definitely shouldn't be 1-4 either

Vandy is terrible this year, if Pruitt screws around and loses to them, then he should just resign.

Yeah but by then we might be 2-9 and Vandy about 2-9 as well. That will be the least cared about SEC game in history if that happens.

Then lets fire him after year 2, have mass attrition, and then expect then next guy to do better in year 2 when he has 50 guys on his roster and whatever walk-ons he can get here.

Totally screwed up end of the first half time mgt. Didn’t have a game plan for 2nd half. Forgot you can run the ball after the first period. But he’s the guy so learn to love it
